It’s been a long time since my last update. In fact, I even deleted my blog/review because there were a few people who decided to send me negative remarks about my rhinoplasty, and someone even used my photos without my consent to post on their own social media platforms, claiming my nose was botched! However, I had my review republished because I’ve recently had a lot of people message me on Facebook and Instagram asking about my rhinoplasty, so I thought it would help them to see my blog.
The healing process was hard for the first year, because my nose changed a lot. Sometimes I was happy with it, other times I was not, but I spoke to Taskin about it and he reassured me that because of my thick skin, it would take up to 2 years to settle. Since it has been 2 years and 4 months since my surgery, I thought I would post a final update, along with some pictures showing how my nose changed over the first year. I think I’m about 90% happy with my results. I would still have preferred a smaller tip, I think. In fact, I loved my immediate results, but my nose didn’t stay as small as it looked when I first removed the tape, but it still suits my face and looks much nicer than my nose before surgery. I still have a bit of a scar from where the rib cartilage was taken, but it doesn’t bother me.

10 WEEKS POST OP
bambijay23March 16, 2019
I can’t believe my surgery was 10 weeks ago! It doesn’t feel that long ago. I think healing is going well. I can no longer feel any rib pain unless I press the area firmly. My nose is healing nicely and I have no breathing problems. I’m happy with my results. Some days I feel like the swelling is a nightmare because it’s a little uneven in some places (which I know is completely normal) but most of the time I remember to be patient with it. My bridge seems to have settled a lot, but my tip has most of the swelling and still feels hard. I think it may always be this way as there is supporting cartilage on the underside of my nostrils. The tip will take the longest to heal. I still have some internal stitches inside my nose and one under the tip near my right nostril. It’s not noticeable at all so it’s not a big deal to me. My family and friends have all seen my new nose now and they love it. They forget I’ve had rhinoplasty a lot of the time because it looks natural and suits my face well. Overall, so far so good!

I love your results! Beautiful before and after!
I actually contact dr Umit Taskin in Istanbul and was a bit concerned because of how vague he was. Only thing he said was that you do consultation one day prior, then do the surgery, and can leave after 7 days.
No further information on place to stay, procedure style, revision possibilities, etc
It âme across as a red flag Was that your experience as well? Should I be rest assured?
Thank you so much I appreciate it

Thank you! When I spoke to him via WhatsApp, it was the same for me, however, I just asked him any questions I had and waited for a response. Most of it is discussed in the consultation when he can actually see you and explain what it is that needs to be done to achieve what you want, which makes more sense to me.

4 weeks post op!
bambijay23February 1, 2019
I’m 4 weeks post op so I thought I’d upload some comparison pictures. Took some photos at work yesterday using a huge ring light. Healing is going well so far. Rib area is still a little sore but totally bearable.

You look amazing! How are you feeling about it now? Also, has Dr Umit Taskin advised the recovery/ down time for the rib cartilage? He will be doing the same with me but hasn’t mentioned much about the aftermath. Thank you for sharing

Thank you! And yeah I feel glad that I did it. The healing process is also a long journey. Plenty of swelling will which will take time to go down. I took 2 weeks off work, 8 days for surgery in Turkey and then the following 6 days. It was possible for me to go back when I got home from Turkey but I just wanted a few extra days off and I work for myself so it was fine to do so. He advised no exercise/wearing glasses for a month though.

Yes and I guess every single person recovers differently too. How was the hotel? Did you manage to venture out or pretty much bed bound the whole time? I will be travelling alone so am really trying to prepare myself. Thanks :)
February 3, 2019
Absolutely. It was super cold when I went. Snow and rain almost days and extremely windy so I had no intention on going out to venture at all. The last thing I wanted to do was be ill as well as recover from surgery. I only ventured to the restaurant of the hotel at most, just to stretch my legs and get out of the hotel room. It may be different for you if the weather is nicer when you plan to go.

You look amazing. Did he ask you if he could post you or make you sign a consent to be posted Instagram? I would love to go to him but I don’t want to be all over social media.
March 3, 2019
No he did not, but I know someone else who asked specifically not to be posted on his social media and he has abided and never posted her surgery photos. I really didn’t mind. I posted the pictures from my own social media and tagged him in the photos so I already appeared on his tagged images from my own post. Same as my reasons for writing this blog, I want people to have someone to ask questions about the experience. I had difficulty finding enough people to talk to about it so it’s nice just to be able to help others in that situation.
March 3, 2019
And I thank you for that, you’re why I’m strongly considering him as my surgeon. Thank you for sharing. ❤️

Why did Dr Taskin but a stitch at the top of your bridge ? I’ve never seen that before ..
March 9, 2019
Because I literally had no cartilage in my nose at all prior to surgery. My own cartilage ended at the point where the stitch is, so the cartilage from my rib, which was used to build me a bridge had to be attached to where my natural cartilage ended. I guess the stitch securely holds the harvested cartilage in place whilst it heals. The stitch was removed when the cast was removed. I was just left with hyperpigmentation there because my skin is super reactive to any type of irritation.

March 10, 2019
Oooh ok..I’ve never seen that before and I had cartilage put in place too. Hopefully your hyperpigmentation fades quickly:)
March 10, 2019
He doesn’t do it for everyone but I have seen him do it before. What I needed doing to my nose may have been different to your needs, and there may be varying factors as to why I needed the stitch to aid with my surgery results, it’s not something that bothers me at all and the mark has faded about 80% now :)

Anyway, Your nose looks amazing and you look absolutely stunning!. Hope the pandemic didn't greatly affect your tattoo business and hope your fiancé is doing good? X
Yeah, I’m quite sensitive deep down so it was quite upsetting that people would do and say those things (like, hello, I’m a real human with feelings
