So 4 years went by after my for rhinoplasty with dr Bora. I was unhappy with my nose. It was still big, bulbous and shapeless. I just got a revision (October 5th, 2023) in Turkey again by Dr Fatih Mehmet Hanege. My nose is AMAZING. True perfection. I am still healing but I absolutely love me New nose. It is much smaller, defined and my tip is small and gorgeous. There is a clear noticeable difference and I’m only 11 days post opp. No one wants to have a revision but sometimes it leads to that. I am finally happy with my nose.

Ok so I am 13+ months Post op.
So I will say this. Rhinoplasty for black people is so hard if you want to change your bulbous/ shapeless tip. My nose is better I guess but looks the same to me also at times. I’m not sure if I still have swelling. Sometimes I have to really look at old pictures to see there is even a difference to be honest. Nobody has no idea I had this done. it’s hard to say if it’s really different or if the changes are just that nicely done without being fake looking. But overall I do wish that my tip was smaller. It’s still an issue when that was my biggest issue to begin with. And it sucks because your not sure if it was the doctors fault or just your noses thick skin not wanting to completely conform to the newly altered bones of the nose or still small up and down swelling. When I feel my bridge I can tell that the bones are smaller. Even the tip FEELS smaller but is still larger then what I would want.so overall I’m content. Not happy. Not mad.

The changes are very subtle.
Do you feel the tip got bigger over time than it was right after surgery?
I am not black but of hispanic descent, but i can relate to you. I have moderately thick skin, and i had a very wide and bulbous nose. After two procedures, (primary and revision) i am left unsatisfied and emotionally depressed due to the fact my tip is also still big and bulbous and now crooked and just doesnt look right. I am also not sure of it is all the surgeons doin or if alot of it is to do with the skin and structure of my nose that left me with poor results. But i do feel your pain and i honestly feel helpless at this point. All i know is i am not happy with how i look and i will be looking toward another revision in the future as soon as i can save enough money and fully heal, which i hope is no more than one year from now. Keep your head up and just know you are not alone. I am located in Colorado and for more than one reason i am trying to stay somewhat local as far as traveling to find a revision surgeon. I do have one in mind so far and i am happing after having a consultation with him he can reassure me it is possible to have a nice looking nose that i can agree to the likes of. Best of luck to you on your journey in the future i hope it all works out for you and for the both of us. Im sure there is a doctor out there who can give us what we want, we just have to find him/her
Hi Ladylumps,
I must say, your nostrils looks better than mine! Naturally, your nostril sizes are pretty similar if not the same. For me, naturally one nostril was bigger than the other lol. That is my genetics. What is it about wanting a smaller tip to the one you have you like? When I look at your original tip to now, girl you slaying! You have pretty nostrils!!! The smaller version of your nose really suits. It's your comfort though, I'm not sure of your body type, face structure and how weight may influence the outcome. I will go as far as to say, yours looks better than mine and I love mine lol. I will also share I invested time in my mental health care before and after. My self-acceptance and expectations were what heavily influence my experience. This is just me though. I love that new nose goes unrecognized. With my pictures and meeting people... I always get compliments on my features. I don't have to contour the hell out of it lol.

How about now? Do you feel like your tip is smaller now? Are you happy with your results now that some years have passed?

There’s are before and after pics.
Still have lots of swelling and it’s annoying. But this is what I got ladies and gents. Let me know what you think.

The first two are before. The last two are after pics
Looks nice! I can see the difference in your bridge looks slimmer already. Happy healing
Thank you so much!! I'm almost thinking of one more surgery to get optimum results but I don't want to do another surgery but I want more results. Smaller.
Give it the full year. You still have a small amount of residual swelling that can make a difference. Plus no decent doctor will touch you inside of a year post op anyway.
Thank you for the advise love.
i bet dr Yapjuanco can give you the look you want. He's a very skilled Philippian dr. and he has vast experience in thick chunky un refined nose makeovers. I read you whole series of posts and I agree, that most dr's don't quite understand how to properly refine a thick nose. i think Dr. Yapjuanco does. And yes, I do see a difference in the over all size and i think it does looks very natural. Best of Luck
I think your nose looks GREAT!! Especially looking at surgery pic #3. Big difference. So happy for you!
your nose looks more refined and less bulbous as you mentioned. It's most noticeable in the first 3 comparison pics. I like it because it looks really good without being too much. like if i knew you, I would say, you look really good, but I can't put my finger on what is different. Very natural.
I really hope the swelling goes down. The major comolain about Dr Bora's rhinoplasty is that it begins to skew to the side after about 9 months to 1 year and gets worse afterwards. There is something that he doesn't seem to get right particularly the bridge. Same here for me. Whatever you do don't go back to him for revision, the second is always worse than the first. For your revision, if you eventually want a symmetric look go somewhere else. But let's hope it doesn't get to that point where you will be completely dissatisfied with your nose. Best wishes
Hello, I was considering dr ok but what I’m finding about Turkish doctors is that they don’t tend to show any post op pics besides surgery table pics and if they do it’s nothing beyond the one month. This makes it difficult to tell whether people experience difficulties later down the line. Do you have any dr’s you can suggest ?
If you are going to Turkey for a revision Dr Yildirim or Prof. Dr Umit Taskin. Taskin is doing a revision for me and I've told him all my concerns plus I have seen his 12-13 months post op. The thing with Taskin is that he does open rhinoplasty and uses your own rib cartilage whereas Bora does closed and used donated cartilage (he may not be open regarding the root of the cartilage). From my research your own rib cartilage is the best for a very good rhinoplasty. Above all, don't rush, take your time, visit the pages of Yildirim and Taskin on IG or YouTube do consultation with both of them and then make an informed decision. You wouldn't want a 3rd rhinoplasty so do take your time to choose a very good surgeon for your revision but don't return to the one who messed it up in the first place.
Taskin has botched a LOT of people. Please do some more research.
I am aware of the ig page with 3 cases. I also saw his responses and advice within the same page. I understood from what i read that there is a need for giving time for healing, which is absolutely true, but when you have a client that want fix me now i only had surgery 3 months ago instead of 1 year ago, then there are likely to be complications. So if he advices that one should wait for swellings to go down so as to know whether any revision is needed, then I think that's on the right track.
As clients we are impatient sometimes when we sense imperfection but this may be due to swelling which needs more time, usually by one year. However, if such time has elapsed and you still feel unhappy with your result and the swellings are completely gone, then of course you can say that you have been botched.
Thats my opinion though because in my case, I kept patient until after one year when I am certain that my swellings were all gone and I'm fully healed before thinking of a revision. Anyway, you do know that all I have said is my account so others interpretation is also allowed. Z
