First I want to start by saying I am going to back pedal my review instead of building tons of anticipation lol.i battled with writing this review because of privacy but I feel obligated to pay it forward because I wouldn't have know about the talented Dr Bora without the reviews I was supplied with on here....
i had surgery 14 Dec 2019 and I traveled from the US.
Let's start from the beginning:
REACHING OUT:
I reached out to DR. BoraOk mid October 2019. I was greeted by the patient coordinator, Safak. She told me 5,000 for the AA rhinoplasty to book in April 2020 . That included Costs Included:
1. Accommodation at Hotel in SGL Room, 5 days included Bed & Breakfast
2. Transfer by arriving Airport-Hotel (or Hospital) and Hotel-Airport
3. 2 Night stay at Hospital, included Breakfast & Dinner
4. Pre-Op Tests : Blood Test
5. Anesthesia Consultation before the surgery
6. Doctor & Nurse fees
7. Anesthesia & Operation costs
8. Two Post-Op control after discharge at Hospital and a day before you leave. That sounded high compared to what I had read so I countered. I Asked to do 4500 if I could book in December. She came back and said that she could do a special for me if I booked in December. I agreed. And booked 14th December 2019. I want to say Safak is truly amazing. Dr Bora is talented but his team is his foundation and I wouldn't have had the heart to do this if Safak wasn't so pleasant to work with!!!! She helped me through every step from setting up my video chat for consultation, to getting me additional medications I requested delivered to the hotel after surgery. She was so kind and amazing. THANK YOU SAFAK!!!!
ACADEMIC HOSPITAL: I HAD A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE AT THIS PLACE!!!! yes it was very clean but the staff was mostly terrible for me. I remember waking up after surgery on a moving stretcher in and out of consciousness and a male nurse or doctor or whoever was trying to lift me up by only one arm extremely hard. For some reason both my arms are still kind of sore to this day 7 days post opp so that HURT LIKE HELL!!! I yelled out "YOUR BEING TO DAMN ROUGH!!!!!!!!" And he let me go. No apology or nothing. Then I get to my room (after surgery) and I am extremely uncomfortable and in mild pain so press the red button to get a nurses attention. I pressed and pressed and pressed that button FOREVER and NOONE CAME. I started yelling HELPPP to get someone's attention and NO ONE STILL CAME. I eventually took deep breaths, put mind over matter and maybe dozed off. Later a male nurse came in to change my ice on my eyes and that's when I showed him the button did not work. IT WASNT EVEN PLUGGED UP!!! He plugged it up for me. I could have died in there. Who knows! That was so terrible to experience that. The food was horrible. They fed me tomato slices, cucumber slices and a slice of cheese and bread after surgery. I WAS HUNGRY AS HELL. Lol then lastly before I checked out there was shift change and I changed from my male nurse to a female nurse who was worse. She came in and tried to give me some more antibiotics in my IV and it started leaking everywhere. All on the sheets and all on my gown. She didn't even try and attempt to clean me up. I had to get aggressive AND MAKE her get someone to change my sheets and gown. I wanted to punch her so bad lol. I understand no one spoke English but I used google translate and they still were acting incompetent and like they did not want to help me. Even the cleaning lady who came to change the sheets had an attitude. I was OVER IT and ready to go!!!! As soon as the DR came and checked on me and let me discharge i FLEW out of there!
VOLLEY HOTEL: this is where my experience changes. The hospital was nice. Everyone helped me and mostly all staff spoke English. they were so kind and caring about me. The room was fine. Only complaint was there was a little black mold in the shower. I just avoided it and wore shower shoes. Other then that it was fine. Double bed. Balcony that opened from both sides. WiFi to watch Netflix on laptop. Cool. I enjoyed the stay.
PS: Volley hotel does not supply you with small wash clothes to bathe! Only bigger towels. And in Turkey you can't use your plugs you use in the US. (Like your laptop/ phone charger. You will need their adapter piece)
DR BORA/ SURGERY:
Dr Bora is a nice guy and mildly cocky BUT EXTREMELY talented! EXTREMELYYYYYY TALENTED. I am extremely happy with my nose right now and I'm still taping every day for the next 7 days. It's so cute. I LOVE IT. Perfect size. Doesn't look operated on at all. Looks like I was supposed to be BORN like this. When I met him for my post Opp appt to change the cast my nose was beautiful!!! I could not believe how cute it was at 5 days post opp! I didn't swell or bruise really at all. I'm just lucky I guess lol. Yes I have some swelling on my nose only but even with the swelling it is still smaller then my nose pre op.
I am 7 days post opp and my stitches on the sides are already fading away with no traces. I can tell they will heal perfectly. He defatted my tip amazingly. That was my biggest issue. Big Shapeless tip and wide nostrils. Both nostrils are even and tip is perfect. Even at 7 days post op I feel beautiful and I know it will on get better. I am so happy. THANK YOU DR BORA!!

Hey, I can definitely say I had the same experience at Academic hospital. The service at the hospital is not that great. The staff did pull me off the bed after my surgery and the call button also did not work I had to resort to texting the surgery coordinator Damla to get someone from the hospital to come to my room. They also need at least one English speaking staff at the hospital because that have a lot of English speaking patients.
December 28, 2019
Wow. They definitely need to get that together!!! Sorry about that experience love. I agree totally. Needs a few English speaking staff because they can become frustrated fast.
December 28, 2019
Thank you, I’m currently recovering in the hotel as well.
December 31, 2019
He is trying to hire engoigh speaking nursing to help my clients out... It's hard to find someone who is fluent.

WoW. I didn’t have a bad experience. My second male nurse seemed to be more friendlier and knowledgeable than my first male nurse. I forgot I would have a Foley catheter in my bladder. After surgery, I wasn’t given the call light. I had to do #2 bad so when I got up to walk, the Foley snapped and disconnected. I knew I’d return with a Foley but I was still dazed from the anesthesia. I had to yell for help and my nurse came and helped me. He saw I was walking straight so I had him to remove the catheter. Didn’t want to be going home with a urinary tract infection. I know he was like damn but he still was pleasant. He helped clean me up of the urine and assisted me back to bed and tucked me in then gave me the call light which was hanging on the back of the bed.
At one point hours before surgery some lady was trying to get me to put on the thin surgery PAPER gown waaay before I was going to sx. I was like not rt not because it’s too cold in here and my surgery is hours later. I talked to her via the translator app. She said I know but u need to be ready so put on gown. I said it’s hours from now, don’t worry I’ll be ready. She still kept coming to make me change like three times until I had to tell her in a strong voice to “GET OUT NOW” while pointing to the door. She went and told on me and I had to let them know. I haven’t even signed my consent forms yet. When Dr. Bora comes to see me, then it will be time for sx. Then I will change into the paper gown. They left out and I remained warm. I told Damla about this and she said not to worry it probably was a misunderstanding, but it surely wasn’t. However, I had no other issues. The staff, housekeeping, café cashiers, security, were all pleasant. They made sure I was good. If they had any issues with me, they definitely kept it amongst themselves. I didn’t eat the post op lunch tray either. Especially the high sodium containing Olives. Why would I eat all that sodium which would contribute to more swelling. The cucumber were the best thing to eat but I don’t like them.
I believe a customer service class would be beneficial for such a growing facility. This is sad, I’m sorry u guys experienced this being so far away from home.

Hey, your review was super helpful! I almost had the exact same experience at the hospital with that rude staff. I am patient to language barriers but wtf.. I asked the same male doctor for ice 3 times, they were rough handling me after surgery I felt so alone .. my top advice
1) dila hotel staff are amazing but I did not sleep all night , the street noise was INSANELY LOUD ALL NIGHT and the bed hurt my back so much I cried and didn’t sleep. See if you can request the volley hotel instead
2) bring snacks , can’t stress that enough , even if you aren’t hungry EAT ( order room service if you have to ) I tried to put off eating big mistake
3) be firm in your communication with bora. Even if it seems rushed take your time , ask all your questions
4) you need an adapter compatible with Turkey charging systems

Hello dear, congratulations! How was you experience going through this alone? Did you show him inspiration pictures? Did he add a bridge to your nose? xxx
December 22, 2019
Thank you!! It was definitely emotional going through alone. I told my boyfriend 1 day post opp. No one else. Lol he was confused because he seen no issue but he loves and supports me. I did not show him inspiration pics really. Just jobs I liked he did on some of his other patients. He did add some rib cartilage to my bridge for support. I already had a bridge .

How was your breathing post op???? I I'm looking forward to having my nose done in the near future
December 25, 2019
Gotta be more Specific. Right after surgery I was breathing through my mouth. After cast removal I could breath even better then before and now 10 days post opp I breath fine. Just inside nose is healing of course so its some crust etc.

Your nose is amazing... did he build it up with ear cartilage?
December 26, 2019
Thank you love!!!! I'm waiting for healing more to post true side by side shots. And no. He used my 7th rib. And I can honestly say healing from that is harder then the rhino from my experience. This thing sucks lol
December 27, 2019
Hello, I just had my operation with Dr Bora. Did you find your nose tip was higher than usual? I never saw my nostrils before, but I see them now. I understand I have to give it time.. it really surprised me...
December 27, 2019
No. I cannot see my nostrils at all.
December 28, 2019
Hey, I just had my surgery with dr Bora on the 26th as well. I feel like I have the same result as you. I feel like my nose is a quite high and I can also see my nostrils which was not the case before. I feel like my nose looks European now.

Ok so he will use your own rib. I have a deposit with him and they spoke of cadaver rib.
December 29, 2019
I guess it depends. He never spoke of cadaver rib with me. It was always mentioned about my own rib.
December 29, 2019
Oh no, I’ve never heard of him using a cadaver rib, might be a typo but he used my own rib cartilage with me.
December 31, 2019

December 28, 2019
Hello, I just had my nose surgery with Dr Bora on the 26th and I am currently in the hotel. Can I ask how your swelling has improved post opp. My nose looks huge and I’m currently scared for my results. I hope it’s mostly swelling.
December 28, 2019
My personal experience with swelling is very fortunate. My face did not swell. Nose of course has some swelling but not a TON. Nose was immediately smaller then pre op after cast removal. No bruising. I went back to work yesterday. 2 weeks post opp and looked fine. No one even noticed a thing. At least they didn't say it to me lol.
December 31, 2019
I'm at the volley hotel right now... Are you here? Do not panic I promise you!!!! You'll be onto better days soon!
December 31, 2019
Darling I was a puffer fish lol.he removed my cast yesterday I am at the volley hotel. My nose is swollen so it looks huge .. but the editing he did, I am happy with the results.. I'm on love. I am prepared for the uneven swelling to start .. stop panicking hun
December 31, 2019
You’re definitely right, I just came back from my appointment to get my cast removed I can see my results more clearly and I can definitely say I love it. I’m still very swollen but I love the results I can see so far. It was not a piggy look at all, He did such great work on me. Are you still at the hotel? Let’s meet for sure if you are.
December 31, 2019
Yes I'm at the Volley hotel, second floor, Let's meet!!! I leave early in morning!!
December 28, 2019
Wow that’s really great, my nose looks completely different to pre op, the changes were not subtle at all. I’m very swollen right now and Im not 100% liking my results at the moment but I’m only 3 days post op so I’ll be patient. I feel like my nose has become even bigger and the top is really high and my nose looks like I have a big European nose with a miss piggy look. He did use some cartilage from my rib so I hope the look improves post op. But right now I’m really scared and not convinced.
December 31, 2019
Hi Hun... It's swollen... When my cast came off I fell in love with my nose. I'm at the volley hotel .. are you here as well!! Do not panic and trust the healing process. We still have a long way to go.
December 31, 2019
I felt similar to you . My heart dropped when I saw the before and after pictures.. but in all honestly the pictures didnt do it justice ..in person my nose is swollen but I love it.

Hi! i'm in my 7th month (with another doctor) and im still having huge swellings. Dont worry, you will see better results at the 6th month! youtube.com/watch?v5th26AVp3-0&t83s this video of another woman helped me a bit. Dont worry, you really need to give your swelling some time (:
January 5, 2020
Thank you so much for your advice! Happy healing love
January 5, 2020
Hey. I had my sx on 11/27th. You can see the pics on my profile. I have those days as well. At times I see a narrower bridge but the rest of my nose looks bulbous and not much different than pre surgery at all. Other times I like HAAAY! Other times, It would feel like it’s all nose and no swelling and then I feel like Damn. It’s frustrating because I don’t know how much swelling is still there. Or if my tip will get any smaller or is this size where it stops but the overall shape still needs time? Some ppl who are nearly a year, a full year, or over a year out, have noses that have different shapes but still big or wide and They still have to contour their noses. I’m hoping this won’t be the end result so I try hard not to focus on what I’m seeing rt now and it works. It’s still so early. Another patient of Dr. Bora told me she had the same worries but she said after 6months, I will see a big difference in the way my nose looks now. As long as the difference is for the better I’m cool with this. So rt now I wouldn’t worry too much. Thinking about will reck your nerves especially the thought of having to pay for a secondary rhinoplasty....Noooo lol. Yes I know. But again, just be patient and ride out the waiting time because seriously, it’s only gonna be what it’s gonna be. Blessings to you and I hope your end results are more than satisfying :)

Amazing advice. Couldn't agree more with everything. Thank you for your feedback hun
February 24, 2020
Your nose won't look like what it will be for at least a year.

Just remember to sleep with your head propped up, tape your nose at night and keep off the extra salt. Don't forget that heat will make your nose swell, too.
July 5, 2020
How's it looking so far ?
July 13, 2020
its looking nice. swelling is still there and i would still consider my nose to be bulbous. but then again where i am is extremely hot so im not suprised by the up and down swelling. i am 7 months post op and tip is still semi hard. bridge is nice though. still healing and it sucks. this is a hard experince. but now at this point im "shoulder shrugging" my outcome. its an improvement. not drastic but a change. i will live with it until a year or so passes and i may feel it is still too big and i will either live with it or go for a revision. my nose was pretty big preop so im not suprised if i will need a possile revision for more refinement.
August 19, 2020
thanks for the update! can you post updated post op pictures of your nose?
September 16, 2020
You nostrils are cute and even — do you like your nose now? I’m not a fan of the oversized implants these drs throw in AA noses to create these high bulky European yt folks bridges. I would love to see your recent pics.
