Works on Wrinkles but There is a Catch

WORTH IT$2,400
BACKGROUND
I’m 44, very fair, and have been using sunblock daily since I was 16 because I literally just burn and go back to ghost girl. Full disclosure I am told by strangers often that I have great skin and they mistake me for being 10 years younger. I am telling you this because I think your baseline is VERY important with this treatment. I have very few wrinkles except when I smile around my eyes and and a 1/2 inch line on my forehead.
GOAL
My goals were to diminish the lines around and under my eyes, get some improvement in marionette lines, and proactively stimulate collagen. I also thought it would improve the tone of my skin.
WHERE I WENT AND WHY
My dermatologist is part of AP Derm in Waltham, MA. Her aesthetic is “less is more” which aligns with my philosophy and taste... so we do treatments that improve me but don’t fundamentally make me look like a different person. The practice has 1 technician that only does lasers. She does it all day every day so I felt comfortable having it done.
TREATMENT
I had a cream lidocaine applied to my entire face and wrapped in Saran Wrap for 15 mins. The procedure itself took about 15 mins and was a 2 out of 10 in terms of pain. It hurt a little but much less than a “rubber band” or if you have had broken capillaries treated. I posted a pic of me about 1 hour after the treatment covered in red circles which is normal.
RESULTS
I have had 3 of the 4 sessions. I will post again when I have completed all of the sessions. The wrinkle on my forehead is gone. I don’t have a before pic of this because it’s hard to pick up on camera but I can emphatically say it’s completely gone. If you have deep forehead lines I bet this would work really well.
I think the ads for this procedure around the eyes are very deceptive. First, the laser cannot go beyond the orbital bone or under the eye. This means if you have mild to moderate crows feet it cannot treat them. Only severe crows feet on your cheeks can be treated. So I got very little improvement.
I think the tone has improved but I already had good tone so maybe a 10% improvement? If you want to improve sunspots and discoloration I think you are much better off with Fraxel.
Hopefully the collagen building is real. I think my skin truly does feel firmer in places but again nothing dramatic.
ADVICE
If you have mild to moderate wrinkles all over your face then it works and you will likely be happy. But if you have few wrinkles or only ones around the eyes I don’t think it’s worth it. If you have poor tone I would give try a session and see the results before buying more.

Before and After

I really tried to take the same pics but it’s so hard to get positioned exactly the same. I use daylight in the same room/time of day. No filters or photoshop. I added a label to each photo to say if it’s before, after 2 treatments, and after 4 treatments. All pics except one have no skincare or makeup. I circled the darkest sunspot on my face (see forehead) that I was trying to lighten. Next time I will just have it frozen off and fix it in 1 treatment.

I think I’m less red and have improved tone. I see no change in my neck wrinkles. My forehead lines are improved but you can’t see it on camera. I will leave it to you to decide if you notice a difference. For $2400 I don’t think it’s worth it. I would roll the dice and try Fraxel.

Bigger smile

m2626
I think there is some minor improvement in my crows feet below the orbital bone. One of the side view photos in my last update doesn’t have the same smile amount. So I decided to take a few more pics smiling so you can see if there is any improvement. I have a pea size of the tinted moisturizer on in all these photos as well as some blush.
