Doctor Richard Bruneteau MD performed a complete facelift on me. This included a brow lift and eyelid surgery. Everything seemed okay but here it is almost five months later and I'm not happy with the upper lid results. I took pictures of my face beginning with the day of my surgery and every two or three days. There appears the same swelling my eyelids had before and I noticed no bruising in the photos. It feels swollen and my skin is still droopy over my lids. I had stitches and can clearly see in the photos that my lids were stitched in the crease, but no bruising! I plan to see him soon about this and the Botox he gave me three weeks ago to remove frown lines (11's) between my brows did not work. I do not want the surgery again, and I hope this swelling will go down and the droopiness will disappear, but at almost five months, is that reasonable to expect? When examining me after surgery he assured me the swelling would go down, but now I wonder if he missed doing this during surgery. Has this occurred to anyone else out there. Has the swelling in your upper eye area, below the browns but above the lids, stayed a while then disappeared? I just guessed at the cost of the eyelid surgery since the whole face lift was a little over $11,000 including the anesthesiologist.

Thanks for sharing your experience so far! My swelling is about gone at 2 months post op (I think), but my incisions are still raised, red, and bumpy.

Hi Angie, I am three weeks post op and my upper and lower incisions are raised, red and bumpy. When did this resolve for you? I go back to work in a few days, but hesitate to put any eye makeup on since scars still feel irritated. Thank you for your help!
