Adult Palatal expansion and braces

Here are amazing progress 7 month into the process on my adult braces with palatal expansion without surgery. I decided to do this after thinking about it for a very long time. My parents had paid for my sister's crooked teeth in the 80's but didn't understand that my small jaws and slim palate would have benefited from it too even though my teeth were straith (and too much directed inside) . I have had bite and jaw pains for at least twenty years but didnt want to have surgery to expand my palate to fix my bite. I insisted on my kids to have braces and was amazed by the results so i finally consulted 2 orthodontists and 2 dentists about my situation and one suggested this technique. This expander is different than what is used for children. It works by constant pressure which is not painfull.... however It was very painful for my tongue because it kept touching the apparatus. We removed it finally after 3 painful months of me not beeing able to eat and articulate at all. The palate was already a litttle over expanded at this point and i could not handle the injuries to my tongue anymore. Event the orthodontist is amazed at how wide my smile is now after 7 months. I never thouht i would be proud if smiling in my life even with braces! I have hiden my smile my whole life because it was so slim. Even my lips seem much larger now. My side profile has also changed and i find My lower face looks younger. I cant wait to see the final result!
