WORTH IT
I figured it was time for an update...
Im now 16 weeks post op. My BR was on the 10th June this year, here in Adelaide by Dr Julie Lawerance. I had the vertical scar technique and a total of 800grms removed. Ive gone from a 12G to aprox 12DD depending on make of bra.
I still have numbness in parts of my breasts, mainly in the areas near the incisions at the bottom and in my right nipple. My left nipple is hyper sensitive and same with the areolas on both. Im pretty much on 'high beam' all the time and not knowing it lol
All the lumps and firm tissue I had post surgery has all seemed to have softened now and they have settled into a nice rounder shape. Ive just started trying out underwire bras again but I still find them a bit uncomfortable and difficult to find a good fit... sad about that as I actually thought getting a reduction wld make bra shopping easier... all my previous health related issues from having large breasts are gone & exercising has become so much easier. I do sometimes find myself 'missing' my big boobies but then I look at my before and afters and literally rejoice in how much happier I am both physically and mentally.
Feel free to ask me any questions.
Good luck to everyone on their journey!

You look so great. Really awesome seeing the comparison between the weeks - I am in the limbo-do-I-don't-I stage and get nervous at pix where the breast looks puckered or tight but yours have settled SO beautifully! You must be so happy! How was the pain? And did you need a lot of help, I imagine having five kids must've been tough (I only have one but I worry he'll want cuddles and being picked up all the time and I won't be able to)?

Hey sorry for the late reply,
My husband took 2 weeks off from work, i didnt drive till around 3 weeks post.
The pain was probably the worst for the 1st 2-3weeks just uncomfortable alot and trouble sleeping. Mornings were the worst as you lay horizontal for so long. So getting upright and moving really helps it settle. Stay ontop of your pain and take regular panadol.
My youngest, 4 yr old boy was hesitant to hug or climb up on me. I couldnt pick him up but I wld have him.sit on the couch nzt to me with pillows and cuddle.
We had explained to all out children prior to my operation what was happeneing and what I could and couldnt do afterwards so everyone would help around the house a little more.

Thank you so much for posting your before and after photos! It’s comforting to see real life updates and images. I didn’t have Julie Lawrence on my list of docs to see but after reading this I definitely want to see her for a consult! Your post surgery results are amazing!

Been back at gym for just over a week! :D
I have even been on short runs and doing intervals!!! Such a difference.
Only bought 2 new bras as I dnt want to get carried away incase my size changes. Besides atm I just wanted something to support me whilst training and comfortable to wear daily. Had my last nurse appt at the beginning of the week as I had 1 tiny spot just under my right brest that was taking a little longer to close. Alls well now tho and I wont go back untill October when I see Dr Lawrence for my post op follow up. Nurse said 1 more month and I can wear underwire bras if I choose too :D heres some updated progress pics.

yay today I get to go get sized :D
I have a very small opening under my right breast thats taking a little longer to heal but ive been covering it woth inadine and a dressing for the last week which seems to be doing the job!
Otherwise im very happy the shape has settled and I only have slight dicomfort from bumpy roads haha and the cold weather. The worst is the 'morning boob' but once im up it quickly goes away. Laying on my left size is still uncomfortable and Im choosing to wear a soft "ahh bra" to sleep for added feel of protection...
Nxt week im goinf back to gym! So excited about that :) will be a steady start but I dnt want to hurt myself. Nurse said no awimimg or hot yoga untill the small wound is completely healed but that shouldny be long now!!

I had a br done 10 years ago by Dr Lawrence. It made a big difference to my life. Yesterday she did a breast lift as Ive lost 32 kgs and they were saggy and I had a severely inverted nipple. Ive got the same dressings as you had.
Were you able to wear a bra before the dressing was changed? Im finding a bra pushes them together and is painful atm

I didnt put on my compression bra untill after the drains were removed. The first 1-2 weeks of wearing the post op bra were quite uncomfortable! But it definitely gets better :) ive only bought 2 bras since getting out of the post op bra. Both wireless. Had a check up beginning of the week (my last 1 untill my 3 month po) and the nurse said In 1 more month I could buy underwires if I wanted. The 2 bras I got were Berile sports bra and Playtex (from myer) the playtex 18hr ultimate lift or whatever its called hahah its amazing and so comfortable

They look great already! What size were you shooting for, and what is your actual size now?

Hi sorry for the late reply i only just seen your comment. I was hoping to be a 12 D-DD
I got sized at 2 differnt stores. 1 was 12DD and the other said 12 E
It was a pretty disheartening day tbh. I was so tired by then end of it. I bought a Berli wireless sports bra and then was recommended Playtex by another lady which I went and tried a few days later. I got a 12DD and was super happy with it the bra is amazing. Its the playtex 18hr ultimate lift and shape I think thats what its called
