We all have our motives for self improvement. I'm hoping my journey will help a few women make informed decisions as other members stories have helped me to make mine.
I've never been particularly happy with my breasts. I was always very slim and never felt they were large enough. After breast feeding my three kids my breasts were left deflated, yet I was happy that they could now be pushed up easily and proud that they'd served me so well feeding my babies.

Im now day four post op. Hopefully I can work out how to add to this original post and I'll start from the beginning of my journey?.

I also really wanted to help others that might be considering using dr Higgs at Parkside cosmetics. He has a few reviews on here but if there had of been a hundred I'd of read them all and considered them to be helpful.

The decision to go ahead

sahlyn
For some reason seeing a friend of mine go through her second revision was the trigger for me deciding id like implants. After all she'd been through she still didn't seem to regret having hers.
The night of her surgery she sent me a couple of photos and we discussed how she was feeling and something switched inside of me..... I was going to do it.
I've finished having children, I had close to enough money saved and didn't have any plans for it. Why the hell not?

The next day I quit smoking, a week later I started at the gym three nights a week.

I began doing a little research and quickly realised I may very well need a lift. This put me off ALOT. for a few days I decided I did not want to go that far and maybe I would forget the whole thing. But I'd changed my whole life for the better in a matter of weeks. No smoking, and I'd rediscovered my love for working out. It was kind of heart breaking to think of not allowing myself to have nice new boobs.
So that was settled. What ever I needed to make my poor deflated boobs more of an asset then something I always tried to disguise..... I was willing to do.

Choosing a doctor.

sahlyn
To be honest I had no idea how to choose a surgeon. I know four people who have implants and all have been done by the same doctor.
I love all of their results.
Three of them have eventually had revisions and despite their complications they have all highly recommended their surgeon saying his after care was second to none.
I'm not deluded in anyway. I know implants don't last forever, things are never perfect (especially when your having a lift as well) so to me the way you were treated after surgery was almost as important as the surgery itself.

The problem I found was that the doctor was not a plastic surgeon but a cosmetic surgeon. And they really do get a bad rap. I understand that there's really nothing to regulate cosmetic surgeons and that any old gp could be performing botched boob jobs in non accredited facilities. But does that really mean that I shouldn't trust a cosmetic surgeon that I know gives good service and good results? This question would plague me until the day of my surgery.

After consulting online with the doctor my friends had all used I was told I would indeed need a lift. I also went back and forth via email with three other surgeries. One in Sydney and the rest in Adelaide. I'm in NSW but am only about five hours from Adelaide (by car) and about twelve hours drive from Sydney so I definitely did not want to travel twelve hours to be able to see my doctor. And there obviously is no one closer then Adelaide so I didn't have any options locally.
All agreed I should have a lift.

I saw on their website that my friends dr (Michael Higgs at Parkside cosmetics) offered free consults and was happy to do the first one over the phone for regional and out of state patients.
So I thought why not book one.... Can't hurt. So I sent through the photos they requested and the week after I had a rather successful phone consult with him. The week after that i received a quote in the mail. It was a bit more then expected but I think some where in my mind I had already decided that I felt comfortable with Dr Higgs and in the end the results I'd seen and even touched (lol) made him as good a choice as I could possibly make.

So I did it. I called and I booked the surgery. They were able to get me in three months from then, but wedding season being the time I make most of my money I wasnt able to take time off until winter. So June 2nd 2017 was set.
