Hi everyone!
3 years ago I would have been shocked if someone gave me a crystal ball and said I would be getting breast implants in the future... but today I'm currently 5 days post op!
I never used to care that much about my boobs until a few of my friends had BA’s and all raved on about how it was the best decision they ever made.
Im 20 years old and in good health, after puberty my metabolism kicked in and I lost about a good 5-6 kilos…. and my C cup boobs! My bra size before the BA was a 12A, which the older I got the more self conscious I became.
Most of my friends that had a BA had theirs done interstate, knowing there isn't much choice here in Adelaide I decided to do some research!
I had originally started my inquiry with Cosmeditour in Queensland, as by recommendation by a friend who had their BA done there and I could not fault them. They were extremely friendly, replied to my emails promptly and where very helpful and professional. The surgery was going to cost $6990 and it would cost an extra $2000 for flights and accommodation.
Flying interstate and recovering in an environment I was not familiar with did scare me, because obviously with surgery there is always risks which lead me to having a consultation at Adelaide Plastic Surgery with Tim Edwards (also a referral by another friend, and her boobs look amazing!).
I was so impressed with my consultation with Tim that I booked my BA about 2 months later.
The price was the only downfall about it, it was double what other states where offering… $13350. BUT in saying that, do your research. I had my boobs done by a cosmetic surgeon, a lot of places that are offering cheap BA’s are done by plastic surgeons, which are less qualified.
DAY OF SURGERY
After surgery it took a long time for the anaesthetic to get out of my system and for me to feel somewhat normal again. My eyes where rolling back into my head and I had to get wheel chaired out to the car because I couldn’t stand up without almost passing out (how embarrassing!). I honestly felt seriously ill for at least 2 hour, but started feeling okay in the car on the way home.
The surgery had forgotten to organize me a bra which I had to go back to the city for the following day, which was a bit disappointing but at least I know they could check my boobs again to make sure everything was okay. Ladies just a heads up – you will need someone to care for you full time for the first 3 days at least! I kept the surgery a big secret from my work and family, only my boyfriend and close friends know and I was very lucky to have an extremely supportive boyfriend through it!
DAY 1
I spent pretty much the whole day and night either sleeping or watching Foxtel, the recliner was my best friend. But in saying that I couldn’t get out of it or use my arms at all, you don’t realize how you literally use your chest muscles to do everything! The pain wasn’t so bad, but it did feel like I had a clamp where the stiches where that would dig and tighten into my chest every time I moved. I took more pain killers by accident than I should have and spent most of day 1 in a daze, not a good idea! Be careful because it also made me feel very emotional!
DAY 2
After my surgery I was too scared to look at my boobs, today I had a good look and the swelling and hardness really scared me. In all honesty I started questioning whether I had made the right choice, which I’ve been assured is a completely normal thing to feel.
I tried showering but almost passed out again and tried lying in bed which was too uncomfortable and hurt like hell when it came to being helped out of there.
Again, I didn’t really notice much an issue with pain or pressure … just the feeling of my skin stretching where the stitches where which grossed me out. Day 2 was the worst for me, and my back was really sore!
DAY 3 ONWARDS
I started making little improvements each day since day 3, I still couldn’t use my arms properly until about day 5 (washing my hair was the most amazing thing ever!!!). Day 4 I started sleeping in bed and day 5 I started feeling like myself again. I have been getting lots of sleep during the day and at night, the surgery really takes it out of you. I’m back to work in 2 days which will be when I start driving as well, the first 3 days where hard but I feel like I’ve bounced back reasonably quickly. Day 5 I went back to APS and the surgeon did a check-up and changed my tape for me which I had an allergic reaction too unfortunately but everything is healing well.
I still think it will take about another 2 weeks before im functioning normally again.
I had 4 wisdom teeth taken out and bone removal about 4 months ago under general anaesthetic and I lost 4 kilos in 5 days and no word of a lie it was like I had an orange stuck in one side of my mouth from swelling. The recovery from the BA was worse than I thought, but getting my boobs done was less painful than having all of my wisdom teeth removed. I think it’s more extremely uncomfortable until you and your body adjusts than painful.
I don’t regret getting the surgery at all now, I just wish my boobs would drop and the swelling would go down! Hopefully the next 5-6 weeks go fast!
THINGS TO HELP YOU GET THROUGH YOUR BA:
- head cushion and sunglasses for the ride home from surgery
- clean sheets on your bed
- a recliner to sleep on for the first few days, you can use your legs to help you up
- comfortable clothes, baggy tops and zip jackets
- multi vitamin tablets to help with recovery
- bendy straws and a small supply of water bottles
- ice packs (instant cold packs)!! I bought one the size of my chest and it was the best money I have ever spent!

Hello!
I am currently doing some research on getting a breast augmentation also. How did you find your surgeon in Adelaide? I am currently looking at going through Cosmedi Tour also who are providing outstanding service, however, have noticed an article in the advertiser stating that going to cheap place can cause breast cancer in later years. So now I'm not sure on what to do. My friends have gone through Cosmedi Tour and have had amazing experiences. I now don't know what I should do. Do you have any advice?
What company did you go through? As I also live in Adelaide and would prefer to have my surgery in the state.

Hi
Just wondering what did you decide? Did you go through Dr Edwards? Or Thailand? I am in the same boat and not sure as there’s no photos or reviews on Tim so it’s hard to know what he’s work is like. I’ve seen one girl and hers are amazing!
