I was considering CoolSculpting for my flanks top...

I was considering CoolSculpting for my flanks top but was skeptical about its effectiveness on this particular area. The fat here is pretty firm and I don't think the machine would suck it in nicely.
I got a sweet deal for tickle lipo (50% off) and decided to go for it. I would discourage anyone from choosing a doctor based on price though. It is an invasive procedure not a mani-pedi and shouldn't be bought on Groupon. I did my homework on the doctor and couldn't find a single negative review so I decided to take a chance.
The surgery was scheduled a week after the initial consultation.
The procedure lasted for about 1.30 (with 20 minutes of break). The doctor injected local anesthetic with very tiny needle. I didn't not feel any pain during the procedure , however, I was very anxious for the first 20 minutes because I was afraid of sudden stub by a cannula to the area distal to anesthetic injection. I had may be 3 unpleasant but not painful pricks during the procedure . The doctor was very attentive and careful. He kept asking me how I am doing every few minutes. He had to inject little more anesthetic to my posterior flank because it wasn't numb enough. I completely relaxed after 30 minutes and almost fell asleep :). Immediately after the procedure I looked very uneven and lumpy but I wasn't concerned because there was a lot of swelling/fluid retention.
They applied compression binder and I drove myself home after the procedure.
I was pleasantly surprised not to feel any pain post procedure. I was thinking it is because I still retain anesthetic but I didn't feel any pain next day and not once after the procedure. There was a mild soreness when I had to take off the binder but zero discomfort with binder on. Before the procedure I stocked up on topical and oral pain relief but didn't need to use it .I was in the gym on day # 5 doing crunches :)
So far everything looks good. There is no dramatic volume loss ( only 500 cc was removed from both sides) but my contours look much better. I would be even happier if more fat was removed but being even is more important. I am still little afraid about final results because I heard some people get lumpy after 5-7 weeks.
Summary: I am happy so far. The procedure was much easier than I expected. I keep my fingers crossed and hope not to develop any lumps as I heal completely.

I was not allowed to do anything but walk for six weeks. It amazes me that ur Dr allowed u to be doing crunches within two wks. Dr r so different.

Where do you get the ad for 50% off

I signed up to their website and received the offer by email. You can also follow their Facebook page as they announce deals periodically. I think now the lowest price for love handles you can get is 1800 (25% off) which is still pretty good. Please be careful, do your research, ask him questions and verbalize your concerns before going for lipo.
Hope this helps.

I know it’s three years later but FYI for anyone interested. The current quote for flanks only with Zelko is $2750. I don’t think he takes your size into consideration on pricing like some others do.

TWO MONTHS AFTER

It has been exactly two months. I think there is still swelling because I have dents from my pants when I take them off at night. The dents smooth out towards the morning. I never had dents on my body from clothes before lipo. Also I still have little numbness and tingling and itching once in a while. At this point There is almost no fibrous tissue felt.
Everything looks even and nice but now I feel like more fat could be taken out. I still have slight issue with the side fat. I lost about 2 cm from the area between waist and hips.
I has a follow up last week and discussed an option to do my outer thighs. If I go for thigh lipo I'll probably ask him to do a little touch up on my love handles (he is going to poke me again around dame area anyway + another poke lower ).
I still can't decide whether I want to do lipo on my thighs or CoolSculpting. I had CoolSculpting before with fairly good results but I am really skeptical about the CoolSmooth applicator (the flat one). I feel like ischemia created by vacuum is the key to successful treatment. Still thinking about it...

You look great. I am glad you have pleasant post-op experience. I am also scheduled to have tickel lipo upper & lower abd, facial fat transfer in sept 2015. Your post helps me to look forward of my procedures. Keep us posted of your results. It takes up to 6-12 months to have full result of lipo as per RS community md comments.
