Spironolactone 100mg experience

Just hit the one month mark on Spironolactone 100mg. I had a really bad breakout at the beginning of week three and is 50% better. My breakouts are itchy and clustered and flakey. It’s gross as heck. I have my next appointment with my OBGYN at my 6 week mark. Fingers crossed my breakup has cleared by then. I’m feeling really shitty about myself right now. My skin is taking over my life. Going in I was really positive and envisioning clear skin but this initial breakout has messed with me. Comments of hope are appreciated. Spiro is my last chance as I have tried everything else including accutane. I also have a derm apt. At the end of week 6 on spiro to get on a new/good skin regimen. I don’t have one atm because I wanted to see how spiro effected my face before adding new cleansers/topical. I’ll use this site to track my progress and hopefully be a miracle story!

This is my 5 weeks update on Spironolactone 100mg. Not very happy with my skin. It’s itchy and peeling on my cheek where I had a big break out at the end of week 3. My chin still has breakouts from my initial breakout that occurred at week 3. I have so many Whitehead’s on my forehead which I’ve had before starting Spironolactone. I had so many on both sides of my chin but now they are gone and I’m just left with the breakout from week 3. I wold say it has cleared 60%. My cheek looks really bad and I hate it!!! ):

I’m currently on week 8 of Spironolactone. My initial breakout is gone but I’m left with bad post inflammation. My skin is fair and no matter what kind of pimple I have - pick it or not- I’m left with redness. My derm started me on Plexion sulfur sulfacetamide. I think it’s helping reduce so redness and it does make my skin feel soft and smooth in some areas. 
Week 5-8 have been uneventful. My skin hasn’t improved or gotten worse. Hopefully month 3 will bring noticeable improvement and my redness will be gone. 
I’ve had no aide effects on spiro no the Plexion wash. I also stated adapalene .03 and I’ve been using it every few days. Not sure if it’s doing anything. 
I really want clear skin! I know we all do. Fingers crossed I feel more confident by the end of this month.
