WORTH IT
My acne scarring has always caused me a great deal of mental trauma, and even today it still can get me down. At times I obsess over the imperfections, but it’s nice to see how how far I’ve come in the last two years, and overall I don’t let it consume my thoughts like I once did. My goal has been to fill the deep volume loss and slowly improve the scarring.

Improving volume loss!
Cystic acne drained the fat from my cheeks, making me look far older that I was at the age of 20 in the first photo. I missed my youthful appearance. This is two years later, after treatments of Radiesse and five Infini treatments. There’s still some scarring that isn’t visible here, but I’m really happy with it so far.

where did you go?
I've been to a few different places. Dermatology Associates of Seattle and Cascade Facial Surgery were the main two places of treatment.
They did a great job :)
Big improvement. Your skin looks great!
Your skin looks great. I am 60 but had cystic acne as a teenager. It’s promising that their are finally some effective options to treat the scars.
Is radesse a filler ?

The journey to improve my cystic acne scarring
I just wanted to share these photos to show a glimpse of my journey. Terrible acne in my teenage years lead me to a tough year of Accutane. I was then left with pretty severe scarring of all forms. Primarily I had rolling scars with serious volume loss. I was depressed and wanted them gone. But I was realistic, and determined to find improvement. I’ve put a fair amount of time and money into this journey, but my confidence is coming back, and that means the world to me. My skin is far from perfect, but slow and steady wins the race. The first two photos are over a year ago and the last one was just today.

Thanks so much for sharing your story and photos of your progress! You'd had some nice improvement :) What treatments have worked for you?
I’ve had 5 treatments of Infini RF and two basic micro-needling treatments. Along with fillers such as Restylane and Radiesse to regain the volume I’ve lost from the scarring. My next steps will be subcision and TCA cross chemical peels.
Your skin is improving nicely. My scars are very similar to yours. Can you please share what you did that led to this improvement? Thanks!
Hey there! After a lot of research I began to try to figure out what treatments address all scar types and are still affordable. In my case I needed to figure out how to treat the volume loss while also treating the individual scars. I’ve had six treatments of Infini RF, three of those applied PRP after the needling was performed. This helped speed recovery time and also added some nice results. After that, I’ve had two syringes of Radiesse injected to address the deep volume loss, along with two syringes of Restylane Silk for the more superficial scars. My recommendation would be to add subcision to these treatments and TCA Cross if you have some more icepick type scarring. I’d go for manual treatment over laser any day, but that’s just me. Cheers and best of luck!
Thanks so much for the advice!
