I wasnt going to leave a review on here about my treatment I have had carried out on a tribal tattoo I got at 16 years old but seeing the results that people here are getting i felt i should.
The tattoo had been recoloured so was a dense black tattoo. I have had 2 treatments.
On my first visit to the clinic a female consultant carried out a small test patch on both my tribal tattoos to see how i reacted to the laser.
A week later I returned and seen by a male consultant. On both arms I blistered which I was assured should not be happening. If the skin blisters then the skin will scar which is not what the treatment is ment to do.
As i blistered he turned the settings down by increasing the size of the laser dot. The whole tattoo was treated in one go. The easiest way to describe the pain is like being pinged by a small elastic band 2600 times. It hurts more than getting the tattoo but only takes a fraction of the time. The teatment took around 10-20 minutes. Once complete the consultant covered the tattoo in aloe vera gel. This was bliss instantly cooling the tattoo. It was coved with some dressing which I was told to take off the next day and continue applying the aloe vera. If I had any issues or questions i was told to contact them straight away. This time there was no blistering my arm was sensitive for a day or 2 but after that it was fine. I could see some areas starting to lighten.
4 months later I went back and this time was treated by the female consultant again.( who done the initial patch tests). As i dint blister she turned the setting up a bit by decreasing the dot size slightly as I would need more treatments if it was left the larger size. Again as beforethe whole tattoo was treated in one go. Covered in aloe vera and coved in a dressing till the evening. I had no blistering again and the tattoo has lightened even more.
Ill have a root around to see if i can find photos pre treatment but these ones are how the tattoo is now. I have an appointment
With the tattoo parlour in a few days to see if he can cover it as it is if not ill be going looking for a place to get picosure laser again.

3rd session complete

I have went for my 3rd and hopefully final session in my right arm before getting it covered. The lady that has been doing the procedures was happy with the progress after 2 sessions. To speed the process up a bit she increased the dot size by 2. Here is a photo take straight after and just under 24 hours after. No pain or discomfort just slight swelling.

Hi ABDN laser in Aberdeen are who I've used for 3 Picosure laser treatments. as far as I'm aware they are the only Picosure laser in Scotland. Although there may be some in Glasgow now
Welcome to the community! I wanted to wish you well on your journey and I hope that you find lots of support here. I'm excited to hear if you get cleared for a cover up. What do you have in mind? So where you treated with the PicoSure laser? I love the idea of Aloe Vera, that stuff is so soothing. I look forward to your updates.
