10-Day Post Op Visit

Went in for my 10-day post op visit today. I am still very sore in my abdominal area, lower back and jaw from the liposuction / liposculpture procedures but it is getting much better - almost daily. I feel probably 60-65% of my normal self. It is tough though because you think you are back to normal and then go run two errands and write an e-mail and are exhausted and have to lay down for an hour! The medicines and homeopathic treatments are very helpful. Dr. Connors used Lyrica in addition to narcotics which I think helps with a lot of the nerve pain issues without having to be too aggressive with narcotics. I have also been taking Arnica and Bromelain which I think has helped with bruising and swelling as well.

Today I had to get considerable draining (600 ccs) as fluid had built up where fat was removed, as expected, but the results on my abs and flanks are fantastic. The photo below is just after fluid draining and is shot with iPhone 7+ HDR with no filter. I did get a little bit of sun over weekend so I have more color than my previous pictures! Bruising is almost totally gone except on my lower back and a little above the groin, but considerable inflammation remains which I expect will dissipate with time and additional draining over the coming weeks / months. Results look very natural - like I actually worked for this in a gym (I say I kind of did it was just in finance)!

I am very happy with the results so far and the only regret I have is not having done this years ago!

Dr. Connors and team (especially Ashley Ault RN BSN, Lisa Drake M.D., Maggie Schreck PA-C, and Jenny Azar RN BSN) have all been fantastic! They truly take almost unlimited time with their patients and are always happy to answer a question by phone, e-mail or see you if you need an extra follow up appointment for draining/bandage change, etc. I couldn't ask for anything more!

Five-Days Post Operative - Great Results So Far!

Today is five-days post operative and I am showering (finally) to go in for my first post operative appointment. I think the results to date look fantastic and will only improve as swelling and bruising continue to go down over the coming weeks and months.

I will say that while warned and expected the pain involved has been very intense at times and that if you are considering this procedure you should be well aware that you will be in severe pain for several says regardless of the pain medicine provided.

Everyone at Dr. Connors office continues to be fantastic! I don't know why anyone would pick a different place to have surgery.

Surgery is complete!

Had my flanks, abdominals and chin liposuction, including abdominal etching, procedure this morning! Got there at 6:30 am and everyone - nurses, doctors, physician assistants were wonderful! Met with the nurse to take vitals, the anesthesiologist, Dr. Drake, to review my medical history one final time and then Dr. Connors, the plastic surgeon, to be marked up for the procedure and discuss desired results and areas of focus. From there I was given a anti-anxiety medication and once that sunk in was led into the operating room. I got on the table which feels like a really nice bed and then I don't remember anything until I was in my car (not driving of course!) on the way home as I was intubated under general anesthesia. I left his office around noon so a little over five hours for the whole procedure with 2.5 hours under the general anesthesia.

Tonight I am just resting, watching TV, taking walks around my home to keep the blood flowing and hitting the Gatorade intensely. Pain is tolerable with medication at this point but the areas of abdominal etching is super super sore as expected.

I woke up in a really nice body and chin wrap which I have to keep on for a week so I haven't seen any results yet but I was informed it was a very successful procedure.

I will update this following my post-op visit on 4/28.
