Closed Capsulotomy

ORIGINAL POST

I am still happy that I had implants just now...

WORTH IT$4,900

I am still happy that I had implants just now concerned about them. I had very little pain and a good experience. I do wish I had gone a little larger. I would also consider silicone if I ever have them replaced.

I recently went to my surgeon because my implants had ripples in them. I thought it was because of weight loss. The surgeon said I had capsular contraction. The next thing I knew my breast was sqeezed until the tissue popped. After that, a nurse was called on to assist and have me sign a consent form. I was aware that there were risks to continue a closed capsulotomy, but I wasn't told that it was frowned upon or that it could void the warranty. I am just wondering what are the signs of complications?

The Closed capsulectomy is not appropriate any more. This should have been discussed withyou. Complications are, BLEEDING, RUPTURE OF IMPLANT, WEAKENING THE SHELL OF THE IMPMLANT. I would recommend an MRI now
Why would I need an MRI. If the implant were to rupture it is just saline and the body would absorb it.
It has now been several weeks with no complications. I'd have to say I'm glad it was done because I could not afford another surgery right now. My implants look and feel so much better.
I have actually had it one more time since the first. At this time I cannot have my implants replaced so I am happy that when the scar tissue appears there is something non-surgical that can be done to improve it.
What if there is internal bleeding from a closed capsulectomy. Is that considered dangerous?
hope u still check this, my doctor wants me to have that procedure too, in one month, she also didnt mention any of the above risks, did u ever get any side affects, are your breasts still soft or did the cc return?
I never had any problems but it has returned. The last time I saw her I had one side that she couldn't get the scar tissue to break up. I was able to get it myself a little. I'm sure this isn't advised but I did it anyway. I need to schedule another appointment but haven't been able to work out my schedule yet. It past time for my mammogram and I need to see her first. Let me know what you decide and how it works out. I would love to have my implants replaced but it just isn't in my budget right now. I wonder if I should have gone under the muscle. I am not sure it that would even be possible with a revision. I would also consider silicone this time...
i went under the muscle. saline. Il deffinetly let you know what happens, how long till the cc returned? in my opinion anything is better than another surgery, and if it the implant brakes, so what, because my only alternative was surgery anyway you know?il be 3 months post op sept 14th so im hoping we caught it in time and im also taking singulair and vit E so we shall see. thanks for your quick reply :)
It probably returned in 6mos to a year. I've had them "popped" twice. The second time she couldn't get it all and I was able to get a little more myself. I'll post here when I get a chance to get back to the office too. I've had mine since '05.
