I could say “I want my body back,” but that’s not accurate. I’ve never NOT had an issue with extra skin—aside from childhood and pregnancy. I gained eight rapidly as a child for emotional reasons, and I believe it had an irreversible effect on my skin. I’m 6’ tall and weigh approximately 155 pounds. I breastfed for a total of 6.5 years.

I was never that overweight. I was a size 14/16 at most, and then I changed my mind and changed my body, and LIFE, and was a size 3/4 in college. I’m 6’ tall, so keep that in mind.

I’ve wanted these procedures for 20 years. I’m 38, and it’s time. I’m a runner, and I enjoy Pilates, TRX, and weight training. I seek out physical activity, and enjoy it—so it’s upsetting to work so hard an not live in the body that matches. The skin is also a reminder of past pain and conflict avoidance—both of which I’ve long overcome (just ask my husband!). Hahaha!

I have worn some type of compression wear daily for 10 years. My friends all think I’m nuts because I’ve fooled them—and my husband and I joke that after surgery I’ll look like what everyone assumes I already look like!

I’ve been pulling my arm skin out, like a circus trick, to demonstrate. The skin ages me, and it’s painful. It gets caught on my clothing, and hangs and rubs when I run. It’s one of the most bothersome parts of me, and when the doctor at my first plastic surgery asked what my #1 concern is, I told him my arms.

Again, 6’ tall, 155 pounds. This skin is tiring to manage, and doesn’t match the strong, active woman I am.

I am so glad I found your review. Your starting point is wonderful and I think you are going to have phenomenal result. Like you, I looked rather thin in clothing pre surgery and didn't have excess weight but definitely had excess skin. I'm now 15ish weeks post op and could not be happier with my decision! It's life changing! Can't wait to see your journey!

Thank you! I'm really excited. The surgeons all tell me that I'm very small. I actually started thinking I needed to lose weight before surgery, before I took my pics. After taking my photos, I realized that it isn't just in my head--I really do have a great frame, muscle tone, etc--I just have a lot of skin.
