I just had my septoplasty today with Dr. Phillip Solomon. The procedure lasted an hour (way less longer than I predicted). I woke up with a burning sensation in my nose and they quickly gave me something for it. It burned pretty badly. My gauze in on and wrapped on my nose, I am bleeding frequently, however I am icing too and on top of everything. They only gave me T3's which aren't helping much with pain but they do help with sleep. The pain is an 8 right now I would say, which is unfortunate. My mouth is constantly dry and I'm itchy everywhere for some reason.
The doctor wasn't very keen on doing anything to the tip of my nose, he said I have thick skin so he'll see what he can do when he gets in there. I can tell he's done some work to it because it's a little pointed and turned up.
I don't know what I'll be doing for glasses as it's difficult to see and I can't wear contacts :( I can't wait until a month from now when I can start seeing results!!!

Today I'm in a lot of pain, the swelling has worsened and the black eye is huge! Only on one side though. You can tell my nose is super swollen. I hate how there is so much dried up blood in my nose, and I don't like breathing out of my mouth constantly. I feel tired and weak, but now I actually find it more difficult to sleep :(

I wish you get well soon but most of all I wish you get the desired results. Please try Arnicare as works deep down to reduce pain, swelling and discoloration and is Very good for relieving painful swelling and bruising.
You will get well soon. Wish you the best.

Hello, it will get better. I had septorhinoplasty on August 4th. My surgery took 7 1/2 hours due to the complexity I had going on with deviated septum, sinus issues and much more. I also had rib graft. I know for me the first 7 days was hard to breathe, along with my rib hurting. Trust me once the cast comes off you will feel better. I have to tell myself everyday that the swelling will go down. It does get better everyday. I wish you a speedy recovery. Hang in there.

Cast is off

So my cast is off and honestly it doesn't look like Dr. Solomon did anything but shave the tiny dorsal hump I had. I'm so upset. I guess I just have to wait 2-3 months for the swelling to go down, but I'm pissed. He's always rushing me every time I go in. I wish I would've went else where.

Hi. Please try not to worry, I had alsorts going through my head after my septoplasty and I had a turbinate reduction too. I kept checking in the mirror. It takes time to heal, months. What are you using in terms of aftercare?

it just seems so large still, I'm so upset. All of my friends say they see no change at all.. I wasn't expecting a total different nose but I was expecting him to make the changes he said he would make. I was only in surgery for an hour, he barely took any time to focus on what I asked him I wanted done and what he told me he would do. :(

Unfortunately septoplasys typically aren't cosmetic at all and won't make a difference externally :/ you'd have to get a septorhinoplasty which involves internal and external work. I almost got a septoplasty thinking it'd fix how crooked my nose looks but that is when multiple surgeons told me I would need a septorhinoplasty not a septoplasty by itself :(

This is so frustrating because the Dr told me he would be changing the look of my nose and that's the whole reason I went in. I just feel so upset because I was looking so forward to this for so long and it's just not how I thought it would turn out :(
