I never had braces and am so self conscious of my smile that I decided to go ahead with Invisalign. I just received my first tray. My dentist said I will wear this tray for 2 weeks then I will return to the dentist to have the attachments put on and get my next tray. I will be changing out my trays weekly (this is something new that the company has just started). I am scheduled for 30 trays. So far no problems and I'm very excited to have my teeth straight!!

My first two weeks went fine. I had no pain. I did struggle with my mouth being dry. The hardest part was not snacking. I'm use to eating every two hours so the first week I seemed to stuff my face at breakfast, lunch and dinner but by the second week I was fine with eating a normal meal for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It takes me about 25 minutes to eat, brush, floss, rinse with mouthwash and put the trays back in. I do soak the trays in the morning with retainer brite. I only drink water when my trays are in. I am thankful that right now we don't have a busy schedule so I can stick to the schedule. I can tell when flossing there has been movement but you can't see it yet. Yesterday I had 5 attachments put on top and 4 attachments on the bottom and my second tray was put in. I received trays 2-6 and I will change them every Monday night. I love the feeling of how tight the new tray is. So far with tray two I've had no pain just a dull ache on one side. Getting them in and out isn't to much of a struggle. No one noticed my trays in my mouth. Even people who knew I was getting them had to ask me when I was starting and I had to show them that I already started. However, now that the attachments are on I think they are more noticeable we'll see if anyone says anything. I'm anxious to see movement. I will post pictures every 5th tray. My treatment is for 30 trays top and bottom.

Thanks for sharing. I am close in age to you and just behind you in terms of treatment (will start tray #2 tomorrow). I also had problems with dry mouth and with the snacking - I wish I could be as fast as you when it comes to eating and brushing :) Looking forward to seeing your progress!

The dry mouth seems a little better with this second tray or maybe I'm just getting use to the trays being in my mouth :) and I'm too lazy to take the trays out, brush and floss just for a snack so that is my motivation for not snacking haha. Looking forward to seeing your progress as well.

Hi! Im on tray 2 also. So far its been a bit on an adjustment but not too bad at all. I have 41 more trays to go so I may as well get used to an instant diet, occasional dry mouth, scratchy edges and brushing more often than I ever have my entire 45 years on earth HAAA!! End results keep me motivated. Best wishes to you both

I'm so glad there are other people who are close to me in treatment. End results keep me motivated as well as knowing the more I keep the trays in the more I will stay on track and will be done!!! We have dinner plans with friends next week so I'm nervous on how I'm gonna handle brushing my teeth after dinner...ugh! Looking forward to seeing your progress.

Started tray THREE of Thirty. No issues…

Started tray THREE of Thirty. No issues with pain when the trays are in but this time I did have discomfort when I took the trays out on day one and day two. My front teeth both top and bottom hurt. I couldn't wait to put the trays back in. I know there has been movement because flossing is so much easier now but you still can't see any change. I did have my first experience with dining out with friends. They didn't say anything so I'm assuming they didn't notice the trays in my mouth. After I ordered a drink I went to the bathroom to remove the trays and I ate and drank not worrying about time because I have been so good with staying within the 25-30 minutes for meals. Then after dinner I went back to the bathroom to brush/floss and put the trays back in and thank goodness no one was in the bathroom so I could have privacy. So far, it has been easy to get into my new routine. I'm anxious to see change!!!

Congratulations on getting started! :) Are you doing any other supplemental treatment, like AcceleDent?
