Microblading at 50, sparse eyebrows
ORIGINAL POST
50 yr old microblading, sparse eyebrows
WORTH IT$500
I’ve beendrawing my eyebrows for years. I shaved them off as a bored teenager, and they never grew back full.
First, the technician was very thorough. During my consult she showed me the blade explained the entire process, talked about the scabbing, potential loss of color, and making necessary corrections when I come back.
The day of the procedure, she made sure I was happy with the color selection, measured, oulined my brows, everything.
She made sure to make any initial changes before I left.
Fortunately for me, I had no bleeding. Maybe an occasional beed of blood but thats it. She said the pigment took well to my skin. She went over my brows about 4 times.
Initially, it felt like tweezing, by pass 2, it was a little painful, but tolerable.
So now I’m prepared for the darkening/scabbing/fade phase...I’m excited :)

Day 5 post Microblade
I notice its getting darker, slight itching, no flaking yet. I’m thinking it may happen soon because the ink is looking thicker.
So far I’m still happy. Just nice getting up with eyebrows. FYI: I have not applied ANYthing to them, no ointment, oil, special creams...etc. I was advised to add a dab of grapeseed or coconut oil if my eyebrows feel super dry when the flaking starts.

Here comes the flaking :(
Now it’s day 8 of having microblading. I’m so glad she prepared me for the flaking, but I’m missing how good my eyebrows looked prior to the flaking. Occasional itch, but over all, no problems. I’m still doing the “dry-heal” method, meaning no oils, ointsments yet on brows. The faded areas look scary, hard to believe the color will come back, but she assured me it will...just not as dark...I’ll update in another week :)

Hi
I was told to keep moist as the flaking and scabbing take away the colour
Mine are way to dark and thick for my face

The woman that did min said she preferred to start thin..easier to make them thicker during touchup, can’t make them thinner if they’re too thick. I’m glad she did, they size is perfect. The color is actually coming back. I may want to make them darker, but thats it. Hopefully your color will fade soon :)

Did you have large flakes and cracks on your brows? I feel like mine is going to peel right off because of my v.oily skin, looks so bad compared to day 1 :(

Yes, I did. It looked like I had very bad eczema, lol I was glad she forewarned me. Once the flaking stopped, the color started coming back, but not all over. I filled in the light spots with a matte eyeliner since my skin is oily. My touch up corrected the light areas. Plus the strokes did soften due to my oily skin, but I still love how the look now.
