1 year post-op mommy makeover

Well it’s been 1 year since I had my mommy makeover and I would do it all over again!!! I’m posting pictures of my scars… or some may say my lack of scars. Most of the questions I get are about recovery and scars so that’s what I will focus on in this review. If you’ve read my earlier reviews I had an abnormally quick recovery. I went back to work in heals in 1 1/2 weeks after my surgery. As far as scars go I have minimal scaring and only if you look really close would you notice. In my pictures I have my bikini bottoms low so you can see the scars otherwise my suit completely covers them. I will be honest my breasts look bigger in pictures that in person. I think it’s an optical illusion because my waist is so tiny… I know poor me My results have exceeded my expectations, I’m going to give you a quick rundown of key things I did that I think made the biggest difference.
1. Surgeon: Niki Christopoulos (Chicago) my TT and breast lift scars are almost invisible (and I’m super picky) and really low. I think having a female surgeon makes all of the difference with regards to the scar and its placement.
2. VitaMedica Recovery Support vitamins. I started them pre surgery and then continued them after. I was so happy with them I now take VitaMedica’s anti-aging vitamins.
3. RF micro needling, I did all of my scars around 3 months post op. As you can see in my pictures my scars are almost nonexistent. The key is to micro needle your scars sooner rather than later. I only did 1 treatment. I would have needed more had I waited.
4. Palmer’s coco butter, I moisturize with it twice a day.
If you’re on the fence about having a MM… jump! It’s been such a great experience I’ve really learned to appreciate my body not only from aesthetic standpoint but also how well it accepted the surgery and healed. I’ve gained 7 pounds since surgery, before I would have beaten myself up… now it’s oh well, I’m almost 47, I’ve had 2 kids, a tummy tuck, ab repair, lipo, breast lift, and implants. I’ll get the 7 pounds off that’s easier than anything else I’ve done.
Good luck to anyone moving forward with a MM! I hope you are as happy with your results as I am!

5 month review!

So it’s been 5 months... and I couldn’t be happier! I’m back to my pre surgery self, less the tummy and saggy boobs. I still get a little swollen at night but it’s really not a big deal.
So how’s the scaring?... I know that’s what everyone wants to know. My TT scar has healed far better than I could have expected!!! And I’m really nitpicky so that’s saying a lot. My breast scars are more noticeable than my TT scar, but they are coming along. I think my tummy and breast scars will hardly be noticeable at my 1 year post surgery mark. You always hear women complain how one breast is higher or bigger than the other well mine are the same. It’s almost weird! They look really natural and once the scars heal I doubt anyone would know they weren’t.
I did the Embrace Scar Therapy and I reviewed their system and I don’t think it did much. I did do radio frequency micro needling and I think that made all of the difference. In a few months I’m going to do it again. I’m posting a picture in a sting bikini so you can see that you can cover the scars even with a little string. (thanks to my surgeon).

Embrace Scar Therapy Review

Before I review the product let me give you a quick rundown of why I chose Embrace.
1. I hate scars! I will do/ try just about anything to minimize them. I understand you can’t have a mommy makeover without them but I will aim for the best result possible. Fortunately, I chose an awesome surgeon and my scaring has far exceeded my expectations.
2. I can afford Embrace...it’s not cheap!
3. I love trying products, I’m happy to be a guinea pig.
So here is my review: Meh!
Maybe they work? Here is the main issue, 10 days for these to stick on their own is virtually impossible!!! As you can see in my picture I’ve added tape to help extend the life of the strip. I’ve been super diligent patient, I’m still wearing a compression garment, I will only allow myself one shower a day and I haven’t resumed exercise yet. Well that is all changing this week. I have a Peloton being delivered, which I will be forced to only use in the morning because if I take two showers a day these strips won’t make it until the weekend. Next issue is I don’t need to wear my compression garment 24/7 now that I’m almost 7 weeks post-op. No way my TT bandages will stay on now that they will be rubbing against my pants for a portion of the day. I will say the breast strips stay on longer and that’s probably because I’ve basically been in a sports bra 24/7.
If I were running the company this is what I would suggest. First, I would make them a 7 day therapy 10 days is really pushing it especially with the placement of a TT scar. Second, I would drop the price, if they were a lower price point I would stick with them. My meh review would change to I’m willing to hedge my bets. Third, I would like a more transparent website. Based on what I have left (I bought 60 days worth of strips) they must assume you only need 2 strips for a TT scar. Well I need 3! And I think most people would. I’m posting a picture next to a pen so you can se the length.
These definitely don’t make the scaring process worse I’m just not sure they make it any better. When I’m done with the strips I’m going to move on to silicone tape and I’m considering getting micro needling. Once I’m close to a year out I’ll consider doing a couple laser treatments.
Embrace definitely doesn’t hurt the scaring process. In fact if I had a small scar I would definitely use them. For large areas I think they need to rework the program. A small scar on your shoulder can’t have the same protocol as a big tummy tuck scar.
