Well my acne started when i was about 12. I tryed to get rid of it just by using oxy pads,facial cleansers but it didnt do much of a job. I wasn't too worried about it because i thought it was just puberty and it would go away on its own but unfortunately it didn't :(. I was always teased at school by kids and always having people talk behind my back and whisper. I was so damn sick of it i began to find a a way to put my acne under control. I used proactive, creams, antibiotics, scrubs..topical's like benzoyl peroxide, retinols, birth control pills...hell i even tryed acne diets and internal cleansing to detoxify my body. Iv tryed it ALL nothing worked. I totally just gave up on my self it felt like a nightmare. I was so depressed i just wanted it to go away. I was the most self conscious person you would have ever met. So for a while i just didnt do anything about it. About a year later i went to the dermatologist just to give it another try. The doctor asked about the acne treatments i have used and i told her EVERYTHING iv tryed everything. She prescribed an oral medication called accutane. I was a bit sceptical about it as she was telling me all the side effects but she said it works 99% for poeople who have taken it. I wasnt going to turn it down so i tryed it. Every month you have to take blood test and pregnancy tests. The only side effects i got was very very dry lips. After about 3 weeks of taking it out of the 6 month cycle..people started telling me they could see the difference. I was very happy.It was only the 3rd week so i was thinking damn i wonder how its going to look at the end.The side effects really suck but let me tell you its so worth it at the end. That was the only thing that worked for me and i loved it. People usually take it for 5 months but i took it for 6. If your thinking about taking it and nothing else has worked for you trust me just try it. There are a lot of side effects, risky ones but if you really want to get rid of your acne you should just take that risk because it does work. I was very happy at the end of it all and still to this day i still havent gotten one pimple even when i eat junk food. I have been off it for about 6 months now.
