40 year old, Fleur de Lis tummy tuck after massive weight loss

I am now two weeks out and feel my recovery has been amazing!
At my heaviest, I was 285# twenty years ago and have always battled my weight my entire life. With the help of my LapBand, I got down to 210#. With the help of a low-carb diet, I shed an extra 70# in 7 months in 2016. I was more than ready to shed my excess skin & fat that made exercise uncomfortable.
The surgeon I ultimately chose was the first consultation I had. She believed that the FDL TT would give me the best results because of the amount of excess skin/fat both above & below my belly button. She also gave me a mons lift and did some lipo on my hips.
On the morning of surgery, I was given the choice of spinal epidural or general. I had never had spinal but thought I would try it and so glad I did. I think that it greatly assisted in my recovery. No grogginess, my husband said he's never seen me so alert right after a surgery (& this one was 4 hours!). I remembered looking down at my stomach in recovery & saying "it's so flat!" (but not knowing if it really was!) but then when the nurse was helping me get dressed she said "look at how tiny your waist is!"
I spent a short time in recovery and was on my way back to a nearby apartment for the next few days. I had a great appetite and had very little pain (I did have a 3-day pain pump).
On day 3, my pain pump was removed & I got my first real look at my flat tummy! I then headed home to continue my recovery. On day 6, my two drainage tubes and my staples were removed. I only took the muscle relaxers and pain medicine for a little over a week and then gradually tapered them down. On day 13, my belly button stitches were removed. I will keep 3M Micropore Medical Tape on my incisions and continue to wear my compression garment for the next few weeks.
I am beyond thrilled to have one stomach instead of two. It's going to make doing cardio so much easier when I return to my full workouts. I am so glad I did this for myself.
