Definitely Disappointing Results
More cons than pros regarding the Upper & Lower All on 4 (permanently screwed in) that I have fitted. For a cost of having spent over $42,000 I didnt expect to have the following - nor was told I would have.
* Only 10 teeth supplied on each of the implants leaving a great void at rear of jawlines. - 14 would have been best, even if it meant extra implants required. As a result, facial changes occur - cheeks drop and also become sunken looking - ageing of at least 10 years. Cant be added in now due to gums having receeded.
* Without the back molars present on either side, your whole chewing patten is disrupted.
* there is a gap between gums & the implant dentures of about 2mm (which will only increase as the gums deteriorate over time) which constantly get food particles stuck between them - and can be embarrassing if at restaurant/dinner table and constantly trying to remove food particles. Toothpicks dont always reach & you find yourself trying to suck the item free or swill liquids in your mouth. Waterpicks help but not always on hand.
* Implant posts can be seen between the gap of gum & impant denture.
* Teeth break off from dentures, top & bottom - 12 in 4 years caused from eating fruit (peaches, mangoes, apple,) lamb fillets & biting my nails, chocolate bar. They also chip. After repair its usually the same ones that break again.
* Overbite that I never had (caused by positing of implants) and point of contact is located at back of dentures rather than front which also cause breakages.
* Time without dentures when needing to be repaired, 2 days - 2 weeks (3 months on 1 occasion), as well as time lost from work due to half day travelling.
* cost to have repairs done - per tooth
* tend to grind my teeth due to not aligning properly.
* due to being smaller sometimes they look like I dont have any top teeth at all.
* but the biggest issue is the now speech impediments caused by the now crowding within my mouth of the thickness of the dentures not allowing room for my tongue to move as free as before - causing lisps, slurring, w instead of r sounds & even drooling occurs. After 4 years hasnt improved

I am curious to know how long you have had them too? You aren't referring to the temporary teeth are you? I have had my permanent ones for about a week now and having a hard time adjusting as well. My temporaries were horrible and I paid a little less than you.
Where did you have your all on four dental implants done? Who was the dentist that did the work?
That's what I would definately like to know. Seems like this person may have gotten them prior to all the new technology. And doesn't sound like a good dentist at all.
Hope you reported the dentist.
How long since you had the work done? What does your dentist say about your problems? I don't mean to pry, but wondering if something can be done to improve your dental situation.
Surely something can be done to help you - and you paid a LOT of money...
Where did you have your procedure? Surely they can do something to help you!
Best wishes to you to for a more positive outcome.
