From UK, Considering All-On-4 in Turkey

UPDATED FROM Sarah1553

Panoramic x-ray done, now waiting on quote.

So on Tuesday I finally got around to getting a OPG panoramic X-ray. I immediately sent it to the clinic I'm considering and they were pretty quick to tell me their oral surgeon would look at it and get back to me... I'm hoping they do so this week as I'm pretty impatient and just want to know what can be done.

I must admit I'd been in two minds about having it done. Is it a bit too drastic? And then I saw my x-ray and that day I tried to eat some pretty soft meat and immediately my teeth hurt and eating was not pleasurable. I've been on a soft food/puree diet because of my gastric sleeve but I had forgotten how miserable eating with my teeth are...

And then I look at my X-ray and realise that I've only got 23 teeth, and barely a handful are not filled. Some teeth look more filling that tooth now, and I'm pretty sure several have needed to be pulled for a few years now.

My X-ray kind of convinced me I need to do something with my teeth. They're ugly, painful, eating is becoming impossible and miserable, they always need something done to them and have already cost me thousands of pounds in trying to fix them. They need to go.

Hopefully I'll hear back from the clinic very soon with the oral surgeons thoughts on whether I am a suitable candidate for All on 4/6.

Also try Kreativ Dental in Budapest, they are brilliant and also not as far to travel. 2 1/2 flight, Kreativ was recommended to me by a friend and I went over for a consultation and decided to go ahead with treatment there and then and it was the best dental experience I’ve ever had.
Thank you I just messaged them! What did you have done there?
I had some implants done in sept and have temps so have to go back in jan for perms. There was quite a few people there having all on 4 done and were verY happy. I hate dentists but can honestly say over there it was pain free and much better than any dentist I’ve been to in the UK. Once you email them they arrange everything, they have a desk at the airport and pick up is free to the hotel and also from hotel to the clinic is free.
Seriously, you have lots of good teeth left. I think you can correct for the look, going for a complete crown restoration of your teeth, and Possibly a few implants to replace the remaining teeth. I have had 8 teeth replaced with four implants. and will be getting 3 more teeth with two implants. I can tell you nothing will replace the feeling of having original gums, as well as teeth roots. All on four and six etc, with complete tooth removal, is better than having no teeth, however it will always feel like an appliance in your mouth. No different than replacing your arm with a stick really. So be cautious of what you do.

Photo's and OPG

So I've asked the clinic what will happen if I get there and the dentist decides my teeth are "still good" and won't do the All on 4. They said we could switch to veneers or crowns but the only way they'll know if I'm a suitable candidate for All on 4 before I get there and have a consultation is if I get an OPG or Panoramic X-Ray done and send it over to them.

So I've found a dentist I can get this done at who will give me a digital copy that I can email over to them and I'm going to book to get that done in the next week or so.

For the moment though I've taken some photo's of my teeth as best I can... I'm rubbish at this though so forgive the poor photo quality.... Although they don't look too bad, most of them are filled (white fillings), discoloured, broken, need fillings or extraction and wonky. I can't live with them as they are anymore, they make me miserable and I try not to smile as a result of them.

Decision made, just need to book a date now!

So I've made the decision to go for All-on-4s at Premium Dental Turkey. So the big cash saving begins now! They've quoted me an all in price for upper and lower jaw of £8471 and I can't beat that price anywhere I've looked for the quality.

The current aim is to book a date for summer 2020... But I'm hoping to do it a little bit earlier than that, maybe around May time. I won't know a date for sure until I've got next years class timetables as I'll have to go when I'm not studying. I'll post some photo's of my teeth in the next little while. :)

I am excited to think that by this time next year I've have lovely new teeth and will be able to smile without shame, and eat without pain.
