I’m a 35 year old mom, I have 2 kids. I have been wanting a tummy tuck and stalking this site for 4 years. I workout out 3-4 times a week, I think I’m pretty fit. I have alot of skin and bad diastisis recti and there is no amount of exercise that is ever going to fix that. I finally saved up the money. I am having my surgery with Dr. Gill. I sent a price inquiry one evening and got a phone call the next morning from the coordinator, they had a cancelation that same day and I went ahead and took it. I had my consultation, paid my deposit and booked for surgery on December 21. It all happened so fast, I tell myself, it’s meant to be! Lol

Hey! So excited to follow your journey. We are pretty close in height and weight. Are you going to spend the night at the facility?
December 1, 2017
Hi!! How are you doing today?! Hope you are well. I am not spending the night, that was an extra expense and with Christmas coming and all I just can’t pay for it. Did you have a recliner? I read on here that most ladies have recliners, I don’t have one. But I am thinking I might have to rent one if it is necessary.
December 1, 2017
I didn’t have a recliner either. I just put pillows behind my head and under my bent knees. It was fine. If I had to do it all over I don’t think I would stay either. So best to save the money!
December 2, 2017
Ok, I feel better now regarding the recliner lol
December 24, 2017
How are you feeling? I don't have a recliner either, I have been sleeping on my couch with pillows behind my head and under my knees. I am 10 days post. Excited to hear how it went for you!
December 24, 2017
I’m doing very well, my husband ended up buying a recliner one day before the surgery, they were on sale at Big Lots lol. Surprisingly I am doing very good, a little pain since day one so I stopped taking Percocet yesterday and now only taking Tylenol if I need it. I did get the exparel so I know that has helped tremendously with managing the pain. All i want now is to walk straight again , Im very hunched over :(

Aimee06 How is your belly button doing? I saw your pic and you got a very nice shape and small waist, you look great!
December 24, 2017
That was really sweet of your husband! I have been sleeping on the couch with tons of pillows and it feels so much better than my bed at least! I'm glad to hear that you are doing well. My belly button is weird and I'm scared to mess with it LOL. I found a tummy tuck support board and a lot of the women recommended grabbing some saline from the store and trying to soak it because it's just probably stuck. I may try to do that today but I'm a little afraid to mess with it at all! And thank you so much! I am really happy with the results but I am over this swelling and I know that it lasts for a very long time. How are you feeling about your results so far? I totally know what you mean as far as wanting to walk straight! I'm tired of hobbling around!

Did you experience any blurry vision after the TT? I started w/ blurry vision and I am starting to freak out a little
December 25, 2017
I did not experience blurry vision but yesterday, I had a lot of dizziness which was scaring me and I did make a call to my surgeon who said that sometimes people try to do too much too quickly and it can make you feel ill. Did you try calling your surgeon yet and ask him?
December 25, 2017
Good morning and Merry Christmas! My vision is better today. I called the doc’s office and the nurse said that it was probably because of the patch for nausea, she said if it the blurriness didnt go away then to go to the ER. Thank God it’s better today, yesterday It was hard to read or write anything on my phone, it was hard to focus. How is your healing coming along?
December 25, 2017
So scary! I'm glad it is gone now though. Merry Christmas!! I cried yesterday, just a rough day with how slow progress is but otherwise, I'm good. I have been having wheezy/crackling in my chest when I wake up the last 3 mornings. It clears up after some coughing but Im wondering if I need to be concerned.
December 25, 2017
I know what you mean about the slow progress :( It’s like we knew what to expect but it’s different once we’re going through it, it sucks!!! lol Maybe you should take something before it gets worse. Coughing is no joke right now, it hurts like hell.
January 31, 2018
Hey there! How are you doing?! Hope everything is well.
January 29, 2018
Your post has really inspired me!! I am 34, 5’3”, 118 lbs, and am finally pulling the trigger after 4 years, too. The before pics of your abdomen are literally like looking in the mirror! Mine is identical down to the belly button ring mark, lol. Seeing your after pics has me very excited. I can’t wait to get there!!

Thank you!! It’s crazy how much skin I had, everyone would say “you don’t beed a tummy tuck” and I would think that’s because you haven’t seen my stomach LOL My kids really tore my stomach up and I was tired of wearing spanx and waist trainers under my dresses (I’m wearing them 23 hours a day now haha but I hope to get off of them soon) I wish you the best of luck, keep us posted on your journey!!

Omg ME TOO!! I’m so tired of hearing “you don’t need a tummy tuck! You’re tiny!!” I like to say “oh yeah?” and whip it out and show them, lol. Their reactions are priceless, haha!! Less than 2 weeks now! So excited!
March 22, 2018
good luck!!!! I hope everything goes great for you!

Pre Op

I have my pre op tomorrow morning and I’m so nervous and excited. I’m reading alot of reviews and I think I’m just freaking myself out. I’m feeling guilty because my surgery is Dec 21 and I’m probably going to be in so much pain that I am not going to be able to spend Christmas Eve with my family. My whole family gets together for Christmas and we open gifts on Christmas Eve. My brother is hosting it for the first time at his new house and he’s going to be so mad at me if my kids and I don’t go. My kids are going to be very upset with me if we don’t go. I have not told them about my surgery, I haven’t told my sisters either, they don’t approve of it. When I mentioned that I wanted to get a tummy tuck they said I was crazy for putting myself at risk of something bad happening. Luckily my husband is being supportive and two of my good friends that had surgery this year are also being supportive and answering my questions. Hoping for the best outcome.

Pre Op

Had my Pre Op this morning. I thought I was going to get blood work done or something but no, it was mostly going over whats going to go on the day of surgery, the recovery, how to log and empty out the drains and had my before pictures taken. I also decided to get Exparel, an additional cost but I decided that since I am not going to spend the night at the hospital then I am going to need it lol Plus I have a very low pain tolerance.

I know how you feel. I have avoided most friends and family just out of precaution. Try not to feel guilty. You are entitled to choose what’s best for you. Glad you have a supportive husband. I do too and it’s the best feeling knowing someone has your back. Keep us posted!
December 8, 2017
Thank you! I will :)

Your pre op went about the same as mine did. I just tried to keep myself busy and surgery day was here before you know it. Good luck on the 21st. You will do great.

Good luck with the surgery! I just got back from my 3 month TT follow up with Dr. G; I am SO happy with my results! I'm sure you will be, too. Can your hubby take the kids to Christmas and you stay home? You can always just say your tummy hurts....wouldn't be a lie, right? hahaha
December 20, 2017
Thank you so much! I had been following your review and your results are great! I’m thinking I might have to stay home and skip Christmas Eve w/ the family and use that excuse lol Hopefully I will feel fine and I will be able to make it because if not I will never hear the end of it my family. Question, did Dr. Gill’s office give you instructions about showering w/ an antibacterial soap before surgery? I honestly don’t remember the nurse giving me those instructions but my friends that had tummy tucks were all instructed to do my their doctors. I need to call Dr. G’s office tomorrow morning just to make sure.

December 20, 2017
sooo it’s almost time! I did use the antibacterial soap but I was not instructed to either I just knew from past experience
December 20, 2017
I can’t believe it’s tomorrow!!! OMG, I’m so busy trying to leave all of the laundry done and house clean that I don’t have time to be nervous lol And I spoke to the nurse this morning and she said to shower w/ an antibacterial soap, luckily a friend of mine that had a TT recently brought me some extras that she had and I’m glad she did because I do not want to go to the store anymore lol How are you doing?
December 21, 2017
