The swelling continues to go down. Monday will be 3 weeks since my surgery & I go in to see Dr. Martin again for a follow up. He wants to make sure everything looks and feels great. The tightness I felt on my upper and lower lids, is also lessening. Now I feel no tightness on my top lids but still feel some tightness/Lateral pull on my lower lids. It's understandable though, because of the Canthoplasty surgery. The great news is that everyday I feel a little better. Also, after surgery, my upper and lower lids were numb. It's normal. I remember when I had my first Blepharoplasty surgery ever, I cried because I thought I'd never have feeling in my lower lids again. The feeling came back months later. This time around, I knew it'd happen again, so I'm not scared about that. I know the feeling in my lids will come back in a few months. Today, while I was applying the scar med, I thought, "a little feeling is coming back!"

Congratulations on a beautiful outcome! I just had lower eyelid retraction surgery 9 days ago. There was so much under-eye hollowness that he had to do a cheek lift. I thought my face was going to explode I was so swollen for the first 3 days. Pretty terrifying. The surgeon said I may have to wait a month to judge the outcome. I have dissolvable stitches in the lateral canthus on both eyes; no spacer was needed. I chose Dr. Taban in L.A. who is one of the best so I'm hopeful, but it's hard to have patience. I wish I could have seen immediately (like you did) that it was going to be a great success. I just can't bear the thought of having more surgery. My eyes were destroyed by the surgeon who did the original bleph. Knowing what I know now, I should have never trusted anyone to do a bleph who was not an ocular surgeon. Live and learn. I'm praying I get my eyes back like you did. It's been a devastating 4 years.
Hi Bemused,
How’s your recovery coming along? I️ can imagine having a cheek lift makes you feel like your face is going to explode. Wow! I’d be so scared also. It’s tough because it’s all so scary when it comes to your face. Did your swelling go down? How do your eyes look? How do they feel? Are you happy with your results? Do your eyes look pretty again? 20 questions. Lol You chose a great doctor from what I️ read about your doctor and before and after pictures also. If you don’t mind me asking, how much was your surgery? Can’t wait to hear about your transformation.
How did your surgery turn out
I’m very disappointed
Wow! What happened (if you don't mind)?
I can relate I'm so sorry. I wish I never touched my face. We were beautiful the way we were
Oh no. I was hopeful for you. I’m sorry. Could you explain a bit?

Before surgery/Day 14 comparison
Swelling has gone down on my left upper eyelid, however, my lower eyelids are both still swollen and feel tight. You'll notice both eyes look a little different but my left eye has a lot of swelling around the corner area, that the right eye doesn't have. I need to let everything heal and be patient. The only difference about the two week mark is that you can go out in public without having to wear sunglasses ???? to hide your eyes. No one will ever know you had any work done. ????

He will be performing a revision blepharoplasty on me in a couple of weeks.
I have been so unhappy with the results of a previous blepharoplasty done by another surgeon two years ago. I can't wait for Dr. John Martin to fix my eyes. My pre-op visit with him was very comforting. He put me at ease. He is one of those few physicians who listens and cares. I had seen four Oculoplastic surgeons a few months after my blepharoplasty done by a plastic surgeon in Fort Lauderdale. Out of the four , Dr. Martin was the only one I felt I could put my trust in.
