I had surgery with Abhishek Chatterjee, MD on 11/21/2017...Lol I'm not sure who told me to get a surgery 2 days before Thanksgiving but I did. Previous to the surgery I was wearing 38DD/DDD bras. My boobs were big and uneven and I had huge areolas that made me very self conscious. I had grooves in my shoulders and discoloration from bra strap digging into me. I had upper back pain and slight scoliosis. I am 10 days post-op and I am still getting used to my new chest. They are pretty small but I am happy nonetheless. Previous to the surgery and during our consultations Dr. Chatterjee and I agreed to a full C. To me they look like B's but maybe that's just me. But I really wanted to upload my experience because I noticed there weren't a lot of reviews for breast reductions in Boston and/or of women of color. So please feel free to comment questions anything and I'll be more than glad to answer. Also more pics to come!

Dr. Chatterjee is an excellent doctor. He really is great at his craft. I was often told my nurses that I was lucky to have him as my surgeon. He is very straight forward and wanted to answer all my questions. Sometimes in our consultations I felt a little rushed but I understood that he is very busy and he wanted to look out for both his and my own time. I wish there was more of an effort to check up on me after surgery but his office has always answered a cal/email from me. I would definitely recommend him!

Hey I’m on Boston and have been trying to find a good doctor to start talking about my surgery. What was your payment like? Or if you used insurance, what was that process like?

Hey! I was lucky enough to have my insurance pay for the procedure seeing as how it was medically necessary. The process was very simple, no headaches. I simply called my insurance and asked them how and if they would cover it and they told me all the things I would need for them to cover (note from doctor, pics, back pain, neck pain, etc.) and how payments were calculated on their end. I was told I would have to pay a $250 copay but it's been almost a month and I haven't received a bill yet. Also, I recommend talking to as many doctors as you can and also ASK FOR PICTURES OF THEIR WORK! I think it's very important to have realistic expectations after the surgery so seeing the kind of results other women have had from your doctor will help your decision.

Thank you for posting your pics. Are you happy with ur new breast? Did u take before and after. I am a wig looking for a dr here in Boston. I need to see the work of drs in the area. Are u going to post pics of the new areolas? I have huge areolas and I’m scared they’ll look funny after.

Hey @Celebrated70579!
So, its been 4-ish years later and to be honest, I still feel like my breast are a little too small for my body but I've adjusted to them. Its GREAT to not have to wear a bra though. To be honest I don't even recall the last time I wore one. I am wearing bralettes if my outfit requires it. Still don't have any cleavage and my scare are still very visible. I would recommend to keep searching doctors! Boston/Massachusetts has great medical doctors and surgeons so just take your time!
