My nose has always been something that bugged me, growing up it was too big for my face and kids at school would tease me about it. A side from the appearance, I have a deviated septum that causes me a lot of breathing problems and I get sinus infections very often because of this. The headaches from a sinus infection where you feel a ton of pressure is pretty much my everyday life. Eventually I grew into my nose but my side profile is never something I liked, I typically avoid taking photos where my side profile is shown. I am very optimistic that this surgery will help correct my breathing problems as well as give me a more aesthetically pleasing nose. This app has been very helpful to me in deciding to finally take the initiative to get my nose done and reading about others experiences to help me prepare for my own. I will post some photos of before from various angles, and will be posting my recovery process in hopes to provide some useful advise and information to others! Surgery is scheduled for February 19, 2018

Hi everyone!
I’m very nervous today, but also excited!! I could barely sleep I felt like it was the night before the first day of school! Haha I decided to get surgery with Dr. Sand, his staff has always been so friendly and welcoming, although when the anesthesiologist came in he said that when wake up I’m gonna feel like I got hit by a truck.. I guess I expected this but hearing him tell me that wasn’t the most comforting thing. I will continue to update post surgery when I wake up.

Hi everyone!!
The procedure took about four hours, felt like I was out for five minutes but as soon as I woke up.. wow. The anesthesiologist was not lying lol I definitely felt like I got hit by a truck, the pain was awful. Upon awakening I was super nauseous but I didn’t actually throw up at all. I got home, had 4 flights of stairs to trek up to my apartment and as soon as I walked into my room I fell asleep with all my clothes on. Doing anything, even going to the bathroom is exhausting. I actually got decent amount of sleep, it’s all I’ve been doing lol I slept for almost five hours straight day 1. I also felt like my throat had been rubbed down with sand paper, almost the worst part actually.
Day 2 post op I set an alarm at 6am to take my pain meds, I initially did not want to use them because I don’t like how they make me feel, but I was in so much pain I decided to take them for a couple days at least. Anyway I woke up at 6am drank an Ensure (protein-chocolate milkshake is so good omg) took my pain pill and fell back asleep. I pretty much have been in and out of sleeping all day. I wake up, drink an Ensure or eat some baby food, change my gauze and fall back asleep. Today I don’t feel nearly as nauseous as I did yesterday, even going to the bathroom I would start sweating and salivating profusely. The nurse also called me today to see how I was doing or if I had any questions so that was nice. Also, prior to surgery I asked the doctor to take a photo of my nose right after surgery before he put the cast on and the major swelling set in and it was so cute and small I can’t wait to see it on Monday!!! ???????? As for bruising, it’s not terrible one of my eyes is more bruised than the other and the bridge of my nose is bruised. I’m pretty much just a balloon head my whole face is so swollen and I can barely open my eyes.
A few things I feel have helped me a ton!!
-neck pillow (TJ Maxx)
-watermelon cough drops, keep my throat lubricated and taste like candy (Target)
-Ensure Protein Chocolate Milkshake (Target)
-Organic baby food (Target)
-frozen peas in a zip lock baggie over my eyes for the swelling
-Friends, family and FaceTime!! Having a support system and people to check up on you and just having people to talk to is so great, in general I love the capability of having FaceTime it feels much more personal than a phone call and you do get bored at home.. I’m only on day two lord help me lol
I will attach some pictures from surgery day and day 2, prepare yourselves it’s not pretty lol
