Bad news
Unfortunately it seems I'm the unlucky chosen one where I've developed capsular contracture in my left breast 14 months post op. Its low grade I-II, not visible in change but in feel/touch. It's mild and doesn't cause me too much discomfort other than my breast is firmer and "I can feel the implant is there", as opposed to my right which is nice, soft & squishy. I also get a sporadic feeling of tightness and tingling around my nipple area. My PS says its not urgent but recommended having the implant removed and replaced. This will require an incision under my breast (I have beautiful armpit incisions that are barely noticeable) and of course going through the surgery/recovery process. Mentor covers the replacement of the implant but the surgery itself will cost me close to $5000. Not to mention theres a chance that capsular contracture can happen again. I saw a GP to get a second opinion in case it were unrelated to my implant and perhaps a fluid cyst. He felt that it was more likely my implant but referred me to an ultrasound to rule anything else out.
Anyone else have a similar experience with this? I'm currently looking into non-invasive approaches such as Singulair/Accolate and Ultrasound Light Therapy which can be effective at softening the implant.

My only complaint
Only complaint is my right breast is subtly wider than my left. Not noticeable unless if you really look. Most noticeable when lying down (only when topless, not noticeable with a bra/top on). The implant takes on a different shape. It's as if my surgeon cut the pocket too wide/loose which makes the implant move more.
1 year post-op
Can't believe its been a year already. In the pre-op/early post-op stages I wasn't so sure if putting my body through this was worth it. I can now say I am 100% happy with my decision and would do it again when the time comes. I never liked wearing bras and now I can finally do so. I am a C cup now and happy I didn't go bigger. It is perfect for my petite frame. Only complaint it my right breast is subtly wider than my left. Most noticeable when lying down (topless), the implant takes on a different shape.
