Great experience until they have your money.

I had my initial consult with Dr Awada in August. She was so kind and welcoming and the staff was so attentive. My consult was quick and efficient, although we never discussed profiles, just that I was getting 300 cc. My pre-operative appointment went well, I was seen quickly and my questions were answered and I was given a packet with everything I needed to know in it. Surgery went on without a hitch, despite having a large bruise around one of my incisions that bled pretty significantly a few hours after I got home. I called the office a few times that day about it and no one seemed worried and I felt as though they were brushing off my concerns and just wanted to get me off the phone. Dr Awada never called to follow up with me in the days after surgery, which I found a bit odd. I got a call from the office the first two days after surgery and then heard nothing. My post operative appointment was a week after surgery and was only with my patient care coordinator, who despite being very warm and friendly when she was selling my surgery to me, was suddenly very standoffish and short when answering my questions. The appointment lasted 15 minutes max and consisted of getting my bandages removed. I had another appointment the next week and thought I would finally be seeing my surgeon (I figured after being cut into the person who did the cutting would be eager to see how you're doing) and was disappointed to find out I was again only seeing a medical assistant. This appointment again only lasted 15 minutes and I had a few spitting stitches removed and was sent on my way. I didn't physically see or talk to Dr Awada until a month after my surgery. The appointment when I saw her lasted a total of two hours and an hour and a half of that time was spent waiting for her in nothing but a paper gown. I'm 8 weeks post op now and she is already bringing up going back in and doing a full lollipop lift. The aftercare has been absolutely horrible and i wouldn't recommend this surgeon to anyone. My advice is to find a surgeon and staff who treat you with the same kindness and respect before and after they have your money. I would have definitely explored other options had I known I was going to have this type of experience post op.

How disappointing, sorry you went through that
I've seen so many good things about her, that's too bad!! I was thinking of consulting with her. Honestly though, I don't care too much about who I see in her office for aftercare, but I do care about results. How do your breasts look now? Are u happy with them otherwise??
Has anything improved? Are you at least happy with the results? Will you be posting updates?

Hi everyone! I figured it would be beneficial for people like me (obsessive researchers) to document my experience with breast augmentation. My surgery is scheduled for September 18th and I'm getting pretty nervous! The only other surgeries I've had were tubes in my ears as a kid and getting my wisdom teeth removed so I'm anxious to see how I'll react to anesthesia. My surgeon is Dr Miriam Awada in Southfield, MI and she has such a caring and sweet nature. I fell in love with her the minute we met at my first consultation in July. I suffer from tuberous breasts with LARGE aerolas and she recommended 300 cc silicone implants with a crescent lift and bra fat liposuction. At 22 I've never had a serious relationship because I'm so embarrassed of my breasts and would never want anyone else to see them. It has always been a major issue in my life and has severely impacted my self esteem. Very excited but eager to get the surgery and recovery out of the way as I'm apprehensive about the pain. Will continue to update throughout my experience :)
