14 Days After My Rhinoplasty in Istanbul – My Current Update

WORTH IT
I’ve been reading along here for quite a while, and before my surgery I really wished for more honest experience posts — so now I’d like to share mine. Maybe it helps someone who’s currently considering surgery or is freshly post-op.

Today I’m exactly 14 days post op.

?

Basic Info
• 21 years old
• First surgery ever
• Purely aesthetic reasons
• Open technique
• Surgery was 14 days ago
• Cast is off, still some swelling – especially at the tip

Why I Chose Surgery

I had been thinking about it for quite some time. What bothered me most was my side profile — I often felt uncomfortable in photos.

It wasn’t a spontaneous decision, but something that stayed on my mind for a long time. At some point I realized: I either need to fully accept it, or change it for myself.

Why Rhinomedica?

I found Rhinomedica through research and experience reports.

What was important to me was that the clinic specializes in rhinoplasty and that I felt well informed. I didn’t want to rush into a decision — I wanted to feel safe and understood. That’s exactly how I felt there: enough time for questions and a calm, factual consultation.

Surgery Day & First Days After

Of course I was nervous before the surgery, but everything was organized and calm. Overall, the whole process went smoothly.

Right after surgery I was mostly just tired. The pain was very manageable — more pressure than actual pain.

The Hardest Part for Me

I have to be honest:
Sleeping was the biggest challenge.

I am absolutely not a back sleeper, and having to sleep only on my back for the first weeks was extremely difficult for me. I slept poorly and sometimes felt frustrated because I couldn’t lie in my usual position.

On top of that, the swelling wasn’t always easy mentally. Especially with the cast on, you just don’t feel like yourself.

I think those two things — sleeping and swelling — were the hardest parts for me personally.

First Week & How I Feel Now (14 Days Post Op)

The first week at home was physically okay. Everything healed well, no complications, and overall everything has been smooth.

Now, at 14 days post op, my nose is still swollen — especially the tip. It feels hard and slightly stiff. Sometimes I feel like it looks different every single day, especially in the mornings.

Overall I can say everything went smoothly and so far everything looks beautiful. I know I’m still very early in the healing process.

Questions for You
• Was your nose still noticeably swollen after 14 days?
• How long did your tip stay hard?
• Did yours also look different every day?
• When did you start feeling more relaxed about the healing process?
• And did anyone else struggle with sleeping on their back?

I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences — especially at this stage, exchange helps so much
