Yesterday afternoon I had Laser assisted lipo (and extraction) at 111 Harley street. I've always had a round face, so combined this procedure with buccal fat removal (which I've documented on a separate review). The treatment itself wasn't too uncomfortable, and started with some injections which contained lidocaine to minimise bleeding. Shortly after, a small problem with a laser was inserted into the same entry points. During this phase I could feel the heat of the Laser under my skin, but the most unpleasant part was the burning smell. I guess that was my fat liquidising! About 10 minutes later, dr Yannis went in with a small cannula to extract the fat. Whilst I didn't feel any pain, this was a little bit unpleasant because of the tugging and pulling. Dr Yannis explained that some force was necessary to break all the fat down. I would say that was the most uncomfortable part of the procedure.
Afterwards, he put a small stitch in each of the entry points (behind each ear and under my chin). The nurse put some dressings over the cuts and advised that they might weep over the next 48 hours. This would be a mixture of the lidocaine fluids and swelling fluids. True to her word I did weep, and so just changed my dressings as necessary.
As then lidocaine wore off over the next 8 hours, my chin and neck became very tender to touch. I didn't get much sleep as I had to have my head raised, abs I could lay on my side because of the tenderness.
Now 24 hours later, the swelling and bruising has come out. I have a rather large double chin (!!) but expected this. I don't have much bruising but I am expecting to see some as the swelling subsides.
I took arnica and bromelain supplements for a week before my surgery and am continuing to take them to help with the bruising.
I have attached some photos of me before the surgery, straight after the surgery and again this morning. I will be post more pics as the days go on!

Hi, Did you pay total £6000 (£3000 x2) or £3000 for the neck lipo and buccal removal? As reviewed separately. Thanks.

Hi, I paid £6,350 for both procudures. I got a little bit of a discount for getting them both done at the same time. The buccal fat on its own was quoted at £3600. Which treatment are you considering?

Day 2. Lots of swelling!

User Avatar

Today my chin, jowls and neck are very swollen. I expected some swelling but it's a little more than I anticipated. I've started to do some very gentle lymph drainage massage today, and have removed the compression garment to allow some blood flow. I look like an iguana! But I'm not too bothered, I have a couple of days off work and I'm praying the swelling will go down! Ice has helped too although being so close to the blood vessels it's easy to get brain freeze! Will update again tomorrow.

Today the bruising is coming out. Woke up to my neck neck and jaw a different colour. The swelling is still pretty bad but the tenderness is going away. I started some gentle lymph drainage massage this morning as I felt a few little lumps appear. Cant seem to get the surgeons pen marks off my skin!

Im still taking arnica, tumeric and ginger supplements. Looking forward to seeing some improvement!
