Juvederm ultra 3-0.3ml injected into right alar drastically changed my whole nose-Will it ever go back to normal?

Hi, I have an indented scar on my right nostril which caused asymmetry that was bothersome. In hindsight I will do anything to go back and will never try cosmetic procedures ever again. This was my first time trying juvederm ultra three 5 months ago I have 0.3 ml injected into my right alar. The day I went to get the injection I changed my mind and said no. However he sternly stated that I cannot say 'no' as he has already prepared the injection..at this point I thought he was only showing me what the needle looked like so I have time to change my mind. I was 19 when I had this done and susceptible to pressure and a part of me felt very pressured into it so I regretfully relented. He claimed he injected 0.3 ml but the changes I saw in the whole right side of my nose were drastic. The tip, right alar and even the area beyond my nose changed double in size and I have a lumo inside my nose. My nose is now twice as big. Quintessentially I only had a small scar which I wanted filled but he caused an even greater problem as my whole nose shape changed. Three days after the procedure I went back with my friend for moral support. He shouted at me and said I look fine and he made me look much better. He denied telling me 'no' when I said I did not want it done. He became visibly angry that I was not happy with the outcome. He called me pathetic and continued to debase me and told his receptionist to never make an appointment for me ever again and he won't see me even if someone paid him a million pounds. I was very upset and felt I had no one to help me. I spoke to my aunt who was not aware of this and she called him up and explained how angry she is and wanted to make a complaint. I sent an email explaining how degraded and bullied i felt and demanded his GMC reference number to make a formal complaint. Immediately his attitude changed and he wanted to see me with my aunt to sort this all out. He denied everything at first but eventually said that he did all those things I'm claiming. He refunded my money and said he will monitor my progress until it all dissolves.
It has been over 5 months since the procedure. I have seen no improvement, nothing has dissolved. My nose is still double in size. I have a lump inside my nose. I'm not sure if my nose will ever return to normal. I advise people to not see this man for a procedure. He is in a clinic in Harley street called professional aesthetic surgery and his name is Mr A jeya Prakash and is one of the rudest, inexperienced and unprofessional person I have ever met.
If anyone has any advise and experience with juvederm ultra 3 and when my nose should return to normal, please let me know. I have heard that juvederm never fully dissolves thay there is residue left behind. Is this true as I want my nose more than anything to look the way it use to.
Thank you

So sorry to hear of your bad experience...I to have had nose filler and am unhappy. I waited for it to dissolve naturally but 14 months on it still is no where near like my old nose (it wasn't perfect before but it was better then this one lol) but now I am looking into having it dissolved with hyaluronidase. Your doctor should have mentioned it ...but might be better to go to some one more Professional for the removal with hyaluronidase. Good luck x

Hi thank you for your response. He advised against it and said it will dissolve my own tissue. Was wondering if you had it done and how did it turn out. Also what type of filler did you receive it's disheartening to hear after 14 months it didn't return to normal :( x

Also I find there is not many people on the site dealing with juvederm/filler problem in the nose in particular and are open to talking about it so it's nice to talk to someone in a similar position. I hope it works out for you and please keep me updated on your progress thank you.

The doctor put 1ml of Restylane Lidocaine and 1ml of Restylane Perlane Lidocaine. Before I had it done I asked him if it could be reversed easily...he assured me yes with hyaluronidase. So I went ahead and hated immediately...I thought I'd wait a few months and see how it settles ...6 'months on still hated it! So I email to book appointment...assistant trying to discourage me from removal ...saying they will not take it out without consultation and can not guarantee same day removal and stated that it may need more filler for better result ...NOOOO! The reason I want it removed is because it's so bulbous ...they didn't need a consultation to put the stuff in! They did both in same appointment. This put me off as it's a London based clinic and I'm based 3 hours away ...it takes a lot of planning for me but now 14 months on and still unhappy. I was told 18 months to 2years to disolve but I can see this taking a lot longer :o(
I am seeing a different local doctor early Jan , he has previously removed juverderm filler from my lips with hyaluronidase... it dissolved same day...for the first few days there was lose skin as I did have a lot of filler but returned to pre filler lips just after a week :o) so there is hope with hyaluronidase dissolving juverderm. A few months on I was able to have a different filler in same area with pleasing results .i
suggest having a consultation with another doctor but be prepared he might not touch some one else's "work" but look for a specialist with reviews on here , will keep you posted. Hope all works out for you ...I feel your pain! So hard looking in mirror every day knowing I actually paid some one to do this :o( x

Thanks for your response. I completely understand what you mean, I feel so much anger at myself for letting this happen-so self-induced. I'm constantly feeling self conscious about the size of my nose. I feel like i'm just hiding myself away because of this and I know it's not healthy for me to be doing that.
The thing is I'm too scared about using hyaluronidase as many people on this site, even with Juvederm, have used it and left with loss of tissue. I really don't need a loss of tissue on my nose and I'm terrified that I may make things worse and cause permanent damage and there will be none of that hope I have now, that in due time it should dissolve. Also my injector claims to have injected 0.3ml which is a tiny amount so I'm confused in the outcome as the change in my nose seems too much for such a small amount.
I think I will wait it out a couple more months and if I see a noticeable reduction then I will know that it is dissolving and will continue to dissolve to pre-injection state.
I hope the hyaluronidase works out for you, but for now I think I will try and wait a few more months.
Thanks again and keep me posted on your results X

Hi, thank you for your comment and yes I am going through the complaint procedure. I think I have potential permanent scarring in my nose from this as well.

I had the same very bad experiences with Mr Jeya Prakash, as you described, but with a different procedure. He caused much damage to me, and other people I have heard from. So if everyone reports their cases to the GMC something may be finally done.

Hi, a quick update and explanation on the filler outcome. I went to get a second opinion by an experienced Dr who runs a correction clinic and is an expert in non-surgical nose jobs.
He explained that the alar is a very vascular area and should not be injected and filled with fillers but if needed the maximum which should be injected is 0.1ml.
The injector I went to injected 0.3ml-first mistake.
Also in my head i felt there was filler that spread to my tip and bridge as that was the only explanation I had for the changes I saw.
My injector could not even explain it and stated it was 'minimal swelling' and shows how inexperienced he is. Surgeons who do not have such knowledge should not even be open to carrying out procedures they don't have the proper knowledge and experience to carry out with accuracy.
The Dr who did not carry out the procedure stated the filler placement moved my cartilage and that is why the tip and other areas have changed.
If anyone has experience of this please comment and share as it will really help.
As of right now post 6 months I'm waiting for it to return to normal.
Thank you

Who was the specialist surgeon you went to see for second opinion? Did he mention anything about removing the filler? Thanks x

Hi babyblonde2014, I went to see Dr Somji in Loughton
He told me he doesn't want to remove the filler as it has integrated with my natural HA and could make my indented scar worse. He basically said it will dissolve my own and waiting is the best option for things to return to normal. X

Hello Jaxxhands! I also had a bad filler nose job 3 weeks ago and it ruined my nose... Did you get back to your baseline ? I hope so ! Good luck
March 24, 2017
Hi Frenchy From Paris,
I'm in the process of removing the filler but it is a slow process and with me I fear permanent scarring as I'm scared my cartilage was affected somehow. This may mean i won't return to baseline, i reacted weirdly to the filler where my tip area really increased in size and is still not going but I'm going to continue the dissolving process. I will advise you to go to a different doctor, I read your questions where your doctor is offering steroid injections. Please don't do this. Also if your filler feels like it hasn't changed the anotomy of your nose then maybe you could wait it out and it will pretty much rerurn to baseline. However it is a gamble and the fact is the longer you wait the harder to dissolve and possible scarring which can't be removed. Also waiting can affect you mentally as we are all distressed from bad procedures damaging our faces. Having said all of that I would advise you to dissolve it, but make sure your doctor takes a conservative approach. Don't worry everything will be fine just start the dissolving process it will help you :)

Thanks Jaxxhands for your reply! The doctor overfilled the tip area (by injecting the tip and columella) and it made my nose look longer and rounder, especially from the side. It still looks like it in a way but a longer and rounder version, if it makes any sense... I am not sure if it created scar tissue or changed my bone structure, I hope not. I can still feel my real nose under the filler but the tip area is more firm than the other parts... hope it's only due to the overfill. I read that scar tissue is mostly due to the injection technique, do you know if there's a way to know if one has scar tissue ?
Thank you for your advice about steroid injections, fortunately I didn't listen to my doctor and ended up relationship with him. I am not really into hyaluronidase injections as I'm very afraid of side effects...
Meanwhile, I read a lot of things about natural ways to dissolve fillers. Apparently Iasers, stimulants (like ginseng), work out and chewing a gum constantly (stimulates nose muscles in some cases) can help dissolve it quicker if it can help, I am going to give it a try... I'll let you know if something worked for me...Hope everything will be fine for you :)

Hi Frenchy from Paris,
I will let you know how the hyaluronidase procedure pans out for me, so if in the future you decide to do it you will have an idea what to expect.
So far i can see the filler slowly dissolving each time i've had the injection, my natural tissue does not seem to have been affected.
As for what your nose looks like i understand what you are saying. The shape is pretty much the same but now it's bigger and larger. With my filler what confused me is how the right of my tip became fuller despite not getting filler on the tip, i only received it on the right alar. Doctors have said it is all swelling. I hope it is just swelling because I can't tell how I can form scar tissue in a place where I didn't receive filler but there is a chance of movement, it's frustrating not knowing why it's looking like this.
Try the natural process it is better and maybe I'm just an outlier where even after 6 months i saw no reduction in my filler.
Hope it works out for you. Keep me posted and if you need to talk about it I'm here to listen. :)x
