Another Harley Honey in the Making, 3/17/17

I'm 52, but have always looked younger than my age. Over the past few years I've noticed jowls and my jaw-line disappearing. Of course the extra 30 lbs doesn't help. Lol. I also hate my marionette lines. I've read so many awesome reviews for Dr Harley that I knew without a doubt that he was the one to fix my face. I so appreciate all of you that posted on Real Self. Without you, I wouldn't be here.

Here are some pictures. I'm pretty swollen especially from my earlobes down into my neck. I'm bruised around my eyes some. Neck and jaw is tight and sore. I added an upper bleph at the last minute. I figured I'm here and have two weeks off from work, so why not. Still very tired, but it's only day 2.

I also wanted to share that I used TLC. They have worked with Dr. Harley for 16 years, so they have the after-care down pat. They were wonderful keeping me on schedule with my meds, bringing me water, smoothies, emptying my drain, etc. At $20/hour, they were well worth every penny.

I'm really swollen in front of my ears and behind my ears going down my neck. I have very little pain. Grateful to get to shower this morning. I have some dryness in my right eye, but it's not too bad. Trying to keep the arnica and bromelain on schedule.

Here's an eye update picture, plus a few more from this morning. Going to work on icing and just resting today. Very tired, but I guess it is considered major surgery. Sticking to a low-sodium diet also.

So today is day 5. Ventured out yesterday for lunch and dinner. Still trying to watch my sodium content. I went to the outlets for awhile. I still don't have a lot of energy. I look younger, but feel older. Lol! I'm sure this is just temporary. Looking forward to getting my stitches out on Friday. Here's pics from this morning.

So today is day 10. I think I look pretty good in the morning, but I continue to swell throughout the day. My incisions are still crusty/scabby, so I'm not posting pics of them yet. I'm trying to wear the mepitac tape as much as possible. I do change it every day because of the drainage from the incisions. My pain is pretty much gone except for tenderness around my ears. I also bought pre and post-op supplements from makemeheal that I think really helped me with having limited bruising. I have had some slight yellowness appear under my chin and on my cheeks/jaw, but I can easily cover it with makeup. I'm still taking arnica and bromelain daily and continuing to watch my sodium.

I forgot to attach picture of my eyes, so…

I forgot to attach picture of my eyes, so here is a before and one from this morning - day 10. I'm not wearing makeup in the after, so it's not an apples to apples comparison, but you can see the changes to my upper lids.

I HATE the changes to RealSelf. It keeps posting my review and them not letting me add all of the pictures. Then it makes me write 200 characters to go back and add the picture. GRRRR! Very frustrating!

So it's day 11. I did a lot of laundry and cleaning today and didn't swell much, so that's a good thing.

I still have lumps on the inside corners of my eyes from the upper bleph. Dr. Harley thinks this will resolve soon with massage. I sure hope so!

I went back to work yesterday. I was very…

I went back to work yesterday. I was very nervous, but no one commented at all! I think the changes are so obvious, but I find people are generally unobservant. I suppose that's a good thing since I didn't want anyone to know.

My energy level is back to normal, but I don't sleep well on my back. It's a struggle. I have a few places that still aren't healed in my incisions around my ears. The other areas are easy to cover with concealer. My hair is also a big help. The upper bleph incisions are a little worrisome. They are dark purple and extend out from my eyes. They are also sunken slightly, so they are a challenge to cover. I can see them quite clearly, but again, no one has commented. Two of my closest female co-workers would ask me without question if they noticed. My husband says I'm paranoid. Lol. I still am working on massaging the lumps at the inside corners of my eyes. I think they've improved some, but have a ways to go. They are hard to see in the pics.

I still swell some throughout the day, more on the left side. I can see it and feel it, but again it's not noticeable to others. I have a few hard places below my chin scar that I can feel, but not see.

I also still have very hard, numb places on the sides of my face that look lumpy. My hair conceals them well. I'm starting to get feeling back in some areas along my ears and jaw.

All in all I'm pretty happy with the changes. I'm not going to lie, it's surreal to look in the mirror and see somebody else. I'm sure I'll adjust to the changes, it will just take time.
