WORTH IT$10,000
i am 700 and had a face and neck lift. My ears were so sore and now I understand. I have stiches behind my ears and in the hairline and at the back of my head. First time last night that I slept in the bed and not the Lazy Boy. I hope the pain is not he same after tomorrow and playing with my ears. I like one side of my face and my neck. The right side has weird horizontal wrinkles that I hope the doc will fix or look at ...I find them freaky but I must be patient.

Went to the doc today and had stitches out..wow one made my leg jump off the table but I am glad they are gone. The reason the ears were so sore was the knot of the stitches. The creepy horizontal lines are a result of lots of 'old lady' skin on one side and the angle of removing the skin. We are awaiting 2 weeks to have another look and then in March he will do a little adjustment in the office. The proble was an 'angle' thing or vertex line. The results are great and getting better. I would tell every woman to do it and forget about buying a new car or cruises....just go for it and you can look at your mirror . I am not vain and pretty plain looking. But my weight is normal and I play sports so why not have a face to please myself.

Were the "weird horizontal wrinkles" where the incision was? I am 5 days post op face and neck lift (plus fat injections) and have weird buckling under and beyond my incision on the left side of my face. Hoping it goes away but a little worried.

no just in the middle of the cheek area heading towards the ear..it just seems really tight. Doc thinks it's the Vector decision he made and following up in a week and then looking seriously at it in March...That would be the two month mark. Feb 28 is the one month mark and still swollen.

Wondering why you would only have "old lady" skin on just one side of your face? Doesn't sound like the correct diagnosis of the issue by your doctor.
Perhaps it will resolve with time and could be due to uneven swelling, slight seroma etc but being due to the type of skin you clearly have on both sides of the same face would seem a really odd explanation.

it is odd for sure I think I was a bit lopsided to start with and my skin from the before pics showed like crepe paper. He said he had to do a little more work on that side. I visit again in Feb. 28 to check on them ..something about the Vector line. Says he can fix the lines if time does not settle those lines..weird indeed. As long as they can be fixed and he seemed confident. I kind of think I look like the 'joker' on that side. Hoping for the besst and confident in him..what else can i do at this point.I am quite swollen by the that side with the thick band of whatever that is ...so time will tell

today my face feels really weird since the stitches came out. It is as if the tension has been released and I stepped out today to a meeting. Sure enough, the bruise and creepy lines were right out'there' and some people asked what happened. Ugh. But it was very sobering as i have a lot of swelling to go down I guess re-positioning. It has only been 2 weeks , I need to remember that.

Photos would be a great help. congratulations on having the courage to go ahead with the facelift. I'm thinking about it at age 68 but I have many lines which are probably permanent unless I go for laser, which scares me.
February 21, 2017
no i don't think they are permanent..it's only skin and can be stretched and replaced in a different spot. They can move the fat up further and sort of 'rehang' that skin. What have you got to lose but an hour visit for a consultation. I thought I could get a mini lift but when i saw the before pictures I saw that I was dreaming..I had wrinkly skin and that was the truth. Check it out. I may ask him to send me the pics so I can post them. I am not pretty enough to be posting pics. I did this just to look 'cleaned' up.

I've had one consultation so far and I swear the nurse said there was nothing surgically that could be done to get rid of smokers lines around the mouth and deep wrinkles. The lines would "improve" a bit. I've got 2 more consultations with others so will get more opinions. Thanks for your input.
February 22, 2017
No they can't fix smokers lines. Fillers can help or chemical peel. Neither last forever.

Thanks Irish. Nothing good lasts forever, only the bad (like smoker's lines)

I am three weeks post op. I had a terrible time recovering. Still bruised on sides of face. Neck has that chin strap thing so many people talk about. PS says I have to massage it really hard which is unpleasant. I used one of those color correcting palettes with green, yellow, apricot and mauve to ecen out the bruising before covering with foundation. Seems to work.
