Hi. PI have male pattern baldness Im 26 and Im a Norwood 5. Im currently on finasteride. I went to the dermatologist last week for skin issues and she prescribed me tretinoin cream for my face. Can Can tretinoin cream speed up male pattern baldness if I use it on my face? Ive read that retinol can do that. Why do oral retinols cause hair loss and topicals dont? Please answer all my questions. Thank you very much.
Hello. I'm male, 29 y. Fair Mediterranean skin type. My question: Is it safe to use chemical Sunscreens with Tretinoin? I read that Tretinoin thins out the outermost layer of the skin, the stratum corneum. I also read that chemical Sunscreens need an intact stratum corneum to work. Does using Tretinoin therefore render chemical Sunscreens ineffective or is it a safe combination? Thank you very much.
I am getting ready to begin use of tretinoin for anti-aging. I am 32. I do not have active acne but I do consider myself to have sensitive skin prone to breakouts. Ive been given a prescription for .025 tretinoin cream but Im wondering if a compounded version with other ingredients such as niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, etc with the .025 tretinoin would be better to start with ? Or is the tube if regular tret cream just as good?
I have been using Tretinoin .05% regularly for about 2 months now. Most of my face is making great improvements both with fine lines and cystic hormonal acne. However, my lower mouth area and chin have not only been red and peeling (which I expected), but it is very bumpy with small under the skin zits? Now my chin has the texture of a Pringles potato chip. Is this just my skin purging and this will improve? I am 34 and did not have any fine lines in this area prior.
I'm a 29 year old male that wants to start tretinoin for anti-aging reasons, however I practice Brazilian jiu jitsu (a grappling sport very similar to judo or wrestling) several times a week. I heard tretinoin can make your skin more sensitive so could this possibly end up making my skin worse or is there something extra I need to do to make sure I get the benefits with no downsides? I currently use sunscreen everyday with vitamin c serum, cleanser and moisturiser as well.
How can I treat the wrinkles under my eyes? I am only 29 and they seem bad! I also have darker skin around my eyes so need to wear concealer. This just makes the wrinkles worse as the concealer comes off where the lines are and the lines show darker than the unwrinkled skin. I have re started using tretinoin 0.1% (diluted with moisturizer). Would using some around the eyes help?
I never had issues with acne! Not even as a teen. An occasional pimple around my period at most. I gave birth to my son >1 year ago (I'm 30) & I've had nothing but horrible acne around my mouth/jawline & under the sideburn areas. I'm currently using Retin-A. My doctor prescribed Aldactone. I took it briefly but stopped after reading it has the potential to cause tumors. I tried doxy for 3 months. I've seen little to no improvement! What else can I try without ill side effects? TIA!
I got small festoons on cheekbones but they are hardly noticable, its just started showing up, and my age is only 29 years. So i just heard tretinoin cream or gel can help to reduce it. So please let me know will this tretinoin helps me? If yes then should i use cream or gel? Thankyou
I've noticed my NLF about 10 years ago, with time they became more pronounced. I also have them BELOW the corner of the mouth - is that the same type of wrinkle? I'm thinking of a Retin-A treatment perhaps it would smooth them out a bit, could that work? Also, would a HA filler work well on them? I only want a filler that can be dissolved. What would you recommend in my case? And is the reason I have NLFs so pronounced? Is it my bone structure or my relatively chunky cheeks?
