Due to insurance, I've switched retinoids a few times. Now I have a bunch of unused bottles and I don't want them to go to waste. I've heard of people using different retinoids on alternating days but never with more than two. Would it be ok for me to use Adapalene 0.3% three days a week, Tazorac 0.1% two days a week, and Tretinoin 0.025% two days a week until I run out of the old bottles? Or would that not give each retinoid enough time to work properly?
I use tretinoin 0.1% every night but I find that using a peasize for the whole face + neck on dry skin is not enough, the recommended dosage simply will not cover the whole area. Yesterday I mixed my tretinoin with half a peasize of differin gel 0.1% and this made the spreading much easier. Is this OK to do or am I diluting/buffering the tretinoin and missing out on optimal results? I use the tretinoin mostly for anti-aging purposes. Kind regards.
I am experiencing an itchy rash on both sides of my neck which started within days of using Differin Gel 0,1% Adapalene. (I only use it on my face and jawline, not on my neck.) Might I be able to change my routine to alcohol-and-oil-free moisturizer and face wash and the rash will go away or is it more likely that I am allergic? My face handles the Differin gel very well, without a rash. I have not been applying sun screen to my neck and ears since I don't apply Differin Gel in these areas.
I've been using Adapalene 0.1% or over 2 years for my hormonal predominantly jawline acne. It has been working pretty well, my skin has cleared completely. Recently, however, I started having breakouts again and I decided to switch to Tretinoin 0.05%. My question is should I expect to have a purge like I did when I just started Adapalene?
I have active acne and post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. My morning routine is cleanse my face, tone with witch hazel, then use Cos De BAHA Tranexamic Acid 5% Serum with Niacinamide 5%, then I use a sunscreen moisturizer. For my night routine I cleanse my face, tone with witch hazel, then use adapalene gel 0.1%, then use sunscreen moisturizer. I want to add kojic acid bar in my routine to hopefully speed the process but I dont know if its recommended so I came here for some guidance.
