I had MOHS surgery for BCC on nose with a bilobed flap a week ago sutures came out today and I am returning to work in 4 days. Can I wear makeup to try to conceal redness and scar? The surgeon told me I could use makeup after 48 hours post suture removal - but I have read varying things on this topic . I would prefer not to work with a bandage on nose or with the area so red Thanks
I had Mohs on the bridge of my nose almost 2 months ago. The surgeon used permanent stitches under the skin. I have had the permanent stitches trimmed once already when they were sticking out from under my skin, but I can see and feel them sticking out again now. Could exposed permanent stitches pose an increased risk of infection? What can I do other than going back to have the ends trimmed off again? Is it common practice to use permanent stitches for Mohs on the nose?
I had a SCC removed a week and a half ago. The dermatologist did a delayed repair (5 days after the Mohs procedure). It is now 1 week after the graft and when getting the stitches out today the dermatologist wanted to keep the lower stitches on for another 5 days to make sure that the bottom part of the graft took. He thought it looked dark/shadowy. Is there a reason why the top portion would take faster than the bottom? Is there still a high likelihood that the entire graft will take?
