I have been exploring the option of breast implants and was wondering if it is recommended since I have a history of pulmonary embolisms. I had all the genetic testing done to rule out any clotting issues and it was determined it was caused by my switch in Birth control (NuvaRing). I understand once you had them there is a possibility you can get them again, as well as using Lovenox after any surgery. Is it possibly for a surgeon to approve with my history?
My Dr. said everything was perfect. Approx3 days after my surgery I noticed blood from the incision site of my right breast. I went to the ER and was diagnosed with a hematoma, DVT, Pulmonary embolism, and Anaemia. I was scheduled for removal of the hematoma. The day of my surgery Dr. Brecht said NOT to have surgery. said she had reviewed my records from the hospital and I did not have a hematoma. Based on her advice I did not have surgery to remove the hematoma.I now have capsule contracture.
My sister had implants about 3-4 years ago. Recently she was diagnosed with a pulminary embulism. She was hospitalized but then sent home and taking medicine to reduce the clot when it was determined that she needed oxygen at home. After two weeks her symptoms got worse and her systems crashed. She is currently being hospitalized and the doctors can't seem to pinpoint what caused the crash.

I developed pulmonary embolisms post tummy tuck & breast lift surgery in 2009. I tested Negative for the genetic clotting disorder. I would like a breast augmentation and my surgeon feels confident there will not be a recurrence with proper ambulation and hydration post surgery. I am thinking of blood thinners to aid in the prevention...thoughts?
