A Year After Rhinoplasty, Can Your Nose Still Get Messed Up if You Hit It or Something Like That?

Doctor Answers 3

Easy to hurt nose 1 year after rhinoplasty?

After 1 year your nose should be pretty stable. However, you can still injure it or fracture it if you get hit. It shouldn't be any easier to break your nose at this point than normal, though.

Strength Of Nose At One Year After Rhinoplasty

Dear Lubachka,

Usually, rhinoplasty results get established at about 12 months post-surgery due to a quasi-complete recovery.

Nonetheless, some patients with a relatively slower recovery pace take more than a year to fully recover and that could be due to the fact that they have a thick and oily nasal skin; other reasons and circumstances may exist delaying the recovery.

That being said, your nose is to be protected against trauma at any time regardless if you have achieved a full recovery or not.

I hope this helps.

Thank you for your inquiry and the best of luck to you.

Trauma after Rhinoplasty

Any nose may sustain trauma at anytime regardless of Rhinoplasty. One year after Rhinoplasty your nose is fairly stable however you should protect yourself when appropriate. The nose is the most commonly broken bone in the body. Protect your investment, appearance and health when possible!!
