Crown replaced due to age and SLIGHT sensitivity to cold.

I had an old crown replaced. When temporary was removed, assistant was cleaning glue from area and hit a nerve. Permenant crown put on...ever since, 4 months, I have extreme sensitivity to hot and cold that lingers. Could The hitting of the nerve while getting glue removed be the reason for this? Thanks for your help

Did you have any sensitivity while the temporary was on?

The assistant didn't hit the main nerve off the tooth, just the dentin which is quite sensitive. Usually any sensitivity is gone in a couple days. Four months is unusual.
