These sound like port access sites and should heal over 4-6 weeks, and be barely visible a year later. Thank you for your question and good luck with everything.

VASER Liposuction: Pigmentation and scars

VASER Liposuction is a trade name for Ultrasound Assisted Liposuction (UAL) which utilizes ultrasound energy to heat the fat and dissolve it. It is great for firmer areas like the outer thighs. It is commonly followed by standard suction assisted liposuction which aspirates the liquified fat. The VASER cannulas do get hot and should be used with a skin protector and avoid contact with the undersurface and outer skin. This direct heat can cause pigmentation and even burns. Pigmentation and redness can be a normal part of the healing process, so I would return to your liposuction surgeon and discuss what these areas represent. Typically the liposuction scars will fade over time.

Yes, they should diminish as you heal.  The final results of the procedure are typically most noticeable 2-4 months following the #Vaser. So, you must have patience. The swelling will gradually diminish while the contours of the treated area(s) can continue to improve up to one year post procedure; becoming more apparent in appearance. But, if the marks continue to be apparent after 4-6 months, your doctor may be able to recommend ways to improve the appearance of the marks, or, treat you with in-office services. There are also many products she or he can suggest for scar management. If you have concerns about your healing it is important to call your plastic surgeon to discuss these further asked to be examined.
