I'm considering getting Volbella (just a little) for upper lip volume & definition enhancement. Are results natural-looking?

I am in Montreal. How much can I expect to spend? Is it painful? How long does it last? Is there a lot of post injection swelling?  Thanks!

Best subtle lip enhancement

Vobella is Allergan's most recent, FDA approved specifically for subtle lip enhancement and plumping. It is specifically defined to help with fine lines and enhance the natural shape of the lip. It will not cause significant plumping so it may be exactly what you are looking for - either that or a smaller amount of regular Juvederm Ultra which will give a slightly more plumping effect. I would recommend speaking with a board certified dermatologist or board certified facial plastic surgeon who has additional training in lip enhancement. best of luck and I think you will be happy with the results!

Natural smooth appearing , technique dependent

Thank you for your question regarding Volbella XC for lip enhancement. Volbella XC can subtly and softly enhance the lips and detail the beautiful surrounding lip structures (cupids bow, philtrum column) however this product is extremely technique dependent. The lip ratio on every individual varies so an assessment by an advanced injector is key to determine that not only is the placement meticulous, but the ratio at which your lips are augmented fits the aesthetic ideal. The ratio that is  not proportioned correctly can leave one with an artificial "duck" appearance. It's important to find a provider who performs thousands of Juvederm procedures and perhaps is one of the top providers in your region.

Use of Volbella to enhance lips

Juvederm Volbella is a terrific filler for the lips. Like all fillers, it can cause some swelling and occasionally bruising, but it is a longer lasting option for the lips where notoriously fillers don't last as long as in other areas. If treated by a highly trained expert physician such as a dermatologist, the results will be safe and natural looking, and pain will typically be about 2-3 out of 10, and often lasts just while injecting, and occasionally some soreness later that day. Swelling with the lips is variable, but typically about 48hrs.

Volbella is the latest offering from Juvederm. It is thinner than the original Juvederm and contains lidocaine to make injections more comfortable plus control post-treatment swelling. Volbella is an excellent choice for reshaping and defining lips. You may have some soreness, swelling or redness after treatment, but it should last only hours to days. Please be sure to consult a board-certified dermatologist who has expertise in lip augmentation.

Volbella to get natural looking lips -- alternatives are juvederm, restylane, voluma

Volbella is a great way to get naturally full lips. Juvederm Volbella lip fillers use a technology called Vycross which allows single strand injections which hold less water and creates a smoother result than most other fillers. We are able to gage just how much pout you want because of this single strand technique and product with minimal swelling.

Volbella for natural appearanc

Volbella results differ from patient to patient, depending on the patient and who is injecting the product. Volbella is an extremely delicate filler. The method of injection often determines the outcome, as to whether your lips look fresh and hydrated vs an overdone "trout pout" set of lips. That's why it is important to see a master injector when you are considering having your lips enhanced. With lips, minute details matter, and often less is more in terms of safety and outcome.

Volbella gives a very soft appearance, smoothing fine lines and giving a more hydrated appearance. It does not give a lot of volume. This filler lasts around one year in the lips. In our office, we use a topical numbing cream before injection to make the treatment more comfortable. Volbella also has lidocaine (a numbing agent) in the filler itself.

You really need a 6-point lip analysis to assess critical shape, volume, and overall delicate architectural points to create a natural, rosebud lip.

Volbella for lip rejuvenation

Volbella is great for natural and soft lip enhancement and, as it the case, with all the fillers, the results really depend on the doctor doing the injections rather than on the product that is being injected.

Volbella is specifically designed for the lips, so it gives you a softer, more natural look. Of course it also depends on the injector, so please tell your injector you want a more natural appearance so they can determine the right amount for you. A syringe should be sufficient if you want a conservative result, which would cost from $800 - $900. Swelling and bruising depends on the injection technique.
