Pain with side sleeping 6 weeks post breast augmentation

Six weeks ago I had a breast augmentation with 385cc silicone implants under the muscle. I have been healing well, they look great. However they become very painful if I lay on my side. I experience a pulling sensation with deep aching pain. I do not have this with standing or laying on my back. The implants look even and feel soft. I do feel some soft lumps at the bottoms of both breasts, but the lumps are not painful. What would cause the pain? Hoping this is not the start of a contracture...

The 6th intercostal lateral sensory nerve is a common culprit causing intermittent pain in occasional breast implant patients. Supportive bras are sometimes helpful. Shifting the breast position sometimes helps. Ascriptin which is a buffered aspirin helps some patients. MASSAGE OF THE IMPLANT HELPS SOME PATIENTS. SEE YOUR PLASTIC SURGEON FOR THEIR ADVISE. GOOD LUCK....

I appreciate your question.

Since there has been a change in your post op course, please contact your surgeon so he/she can examine you and recommend the most appropriate treatment plan at this time.

The best way to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam.

Please see a board-certified plastic surgeon that specializes in aesthetic and restorative breast surgery.

Best of luck!
