This is a great question but not possible to answer as good comparative studies have not been done. There is evidence that ketoconazole and zinc pyrithione may be beneficial for AGA. These are old studies and small studies nevertheless they are studies that we use to place our recommendations.

Althoughgh many people use ketoconazole and zinc pyrithione, I don't know of any proof that this actually returns hair.  Speak with your doctor
