Can onlay grafts show through? Are permanent sutures better than dissolvable to hold cartilage in place?
One of the possible revision surgeons that i have seen says i will possibly need an onlay graft which if needed, won't be stichted down. Is there a risk of this shifting or showing through? Also, despite not stitching the only graft, he says he would use permanent sutures to stick other grafts together, but i thought permanent increases chances of infections? He is happy to use dissolvable if i wish but recommends permanent whereas others I've seen don't.. help!
