Does tretinoin help with post Accutane relapse?

Hello Doctors. Does a regimen of tretinoin after accutane is finished help with preventing relapse? Also can topical tretinoin get absorbed systemically and cause side affects such as hair loss? Thank you

Thank you for your question. Topical therapy after Accutane can be helpful if acne has already returned but in my experience, topical therapy is not initiated unless acne is recurrent. No there is no systemic absorption of tretinoin. If you have further questions, I highly recommend you consult with a board certified dermatologist in your area. Take care and good luck.
