What are reasons for alar retraction?

My nose has been changing. My nostrils are retracting and the nostril Tissue is thin and I'm wondering what some reasons for this would be? I have not had nasal surgery in the past. Thank you!

alar retraction

Alar retraction usually occurs after a primary rhinoplasty when the tip cartilages have been altered.  A full set of  facial photographs are required to make a determination about alar retraction versus  a hanging columella.
