Smallest size of slit for a single hair graft will depend on the size of the graft.  The size of graft may differ from patient to patient.  One example of size may be a 21 gauge needle.

the size of the slit depends on the size of the graft. single hair grafts are usually a little smaller than the multiple haired grafts. the key is that the graft fits into the slit with no compromise of the graft or the blood flow to the area, the slit is made to the smallest size as possible to prevent scarring as well.

How to determine size of hair transplant recipient site slits?

{{ voteCount >= 0 ? '+' + (voteCount + 1) : (voteCount + 1) }}

The correct size for a recipient site slit is dependent on the size of the follicular unit graft to be inserted, the quality of the skin, and the angle that the incision is made at. It needs to be determined for each patient and will vary with different sized follicular unit grafts and even sometimes in different areas of the scalp.

Thanks for the query.  The smallest single hair can be done by making a slit of 0.6 mm which is the thinnest strip required for the hair graft to survive when done by FUE technique. Some doctors might do it with 0.3 mm technique but the result varies according to the quality. With hair quality you mentioned it can be done but the exact can be known after examination. Hope it helps.
