Will Brazilian laser hair removal help with darkened skin on genitals?

Removing all of your dark hair will lighten the areas darkened by the hair follicles only.  This will help with an appearance of lighter skin but the laser will not actually lighten the skin itself.  If you have darker types 5 and 6 skin, we at Monroe Comprehensive Laser Center in Monroe, Mi would recommend the Candela Gentlemax Pro using the Yag platform.  For skin types 1 thru 3 and Asian type four skin, we would recommend the same machine, Alex platform.

Absolutely! The hair follicles can make any area of the body appear to be darker pigmented. Once the hair follicles are gone by treating with a Laser Hair Removal machine, which should take about 6 treatments, the area treated should look shades lighter. Leaving less of a shadow in the area of unwanted hair. You are correct when saying the laser will not lighten the actual skin tone/pigment.

Hello,Laser Hair Removal would help in lightening the area as the hair would no longer be as coarse and dense, and over time after 5-7 treatments it would appear lighter in that area as there would be less. However it would not directly lighten the skin in the genital area as this is caused from pigmentation. I would suggest to get a good exfoliator for this area and exfoliate when you shave to help with ingrown hairs, ect.
