Is there a way to restore a front tooth after the dentist filed down too much? (photos)

Your dentist was correct in what she told you.  Just trying to place a little bonded filling material on the edge is almost always a short lived solution.She could have prepared the tooth more and then done a direct composite bonding, and in fact she can still do that.  Or, she can shorten the tooth next to it to make them the same length, but you would probably prefer the "additive" approach with the bonded filling.Two other treatments are to do orthodontics with braces of Invisalign, or porcelain veneers on your two front teeth to get the best match.

The simplest option would be to shorten the tooth to the left of it, to match the length.......................................
